Well, I Made the Cat Happy

Lately it seems like she is never satisfied. Not with wet food, dry food, or treats. Each time I go to the kitchen I must give her something else. So, with tomorrow being a warm day I decided I would open a can of chicken and make chicken salad for a fast lunch. I gave Princess the juice off the meat, or the broth I guess you could say. It did make her happy. She is ready to sleep now.

I know cats tend to be finicky so I guess you found something to make her happy

I do not have a cat that I can say I own but there is one that visits me every day. But Preiti our dog would any day prefer our own food to hers. I wash a few pieces of the stuff we eat and give her as starter. She waits for that every single day and then starts eating her food.

Because of dental issues I roasted or boiled chicken for two kitties. Added pumpkin and oatmeal too.

@GardenGerty I am not sure she would eat either of those if added to her chicken. She is finicky.

@ElusiveButterfly I started with the pumpkin or butternut squash because they begged for it when I was making soup for hubby. I know that that is recommended for hair and skin and constipation for dogs, so I was not too surprised when they wanted it. The oats were the only grain I would use for them and it soaked up lots of the chicken fat and was quite tasty. I also gave them homemade yogurt as the vet said it would be good for them. I felt like making their food caused them both to live a couple of years longer than if I had not. I believe that one had a weak immune system and whatever bacteria caused his gums to get inflamed spread to the other, older cat because they would groom each other and eat from the same dish.

@GardenGerty ~Animals do love meat. My toy poodle also likes peanut butter and french fries. When I would be making lunches before going to work, she would always be there, whining for a piece of Pastromi when I was making myself a Ruben Sandwich and for Peanut Butter when I was making a pb&j sandwich.

I know that dogs like peanut butter, and I have seen peanut butter flavored dog biscuits. I had a pet rabbit that liked those.

I can see what's wrong with it. You shall treat your cat like the Queen rather than Princess

@youless Truly so. I think when I am on school break she believes herself to be the queen.

@GardenGerty As a slave like me, serving a Queen is not much different than a Princess

I have one cat that is a really picky eater when it comes to cat food but he loves people food. I have to watch him all the time because he will come right up and steal food off my plate.

There are some things Princess would steal but she also likes to just stand up and put her paws up on the table.

@Happy2BeMe Yes, and she is long enough, or tall enough to stand on her hind legs and look at the top of the table or counter.

one of mine is finicky as hell-she always wants people food. i don't think her previous owners fed her on a regular basis and she got in the habit of scrounging the kitchen..

An acquaintance of mine cooks fresh chicken for her dog. I love cats but would not have time to give in to their whims. They are better off without me.

She thinks she should have a share of all people food, but it is not all good for her. Even tuna will make her have an upset stomach at times, even though she will ask for it.

Its funny sometimes what hits their fancy @GardenGerty . I know sometimes all I have to do is open a can of tuna for me and I get swarmed.

No dancing, but she did stop vocalizing. She will lose weight when the weather is hot, but she is not overweight now.
