The Loves of my Life

The photo is of one of the loves of my life, Doodles the cat. He is here to stay until we return to Florida or go on vacation. He remembered all our routines and follows me around like a baby.
Another love of my life is my 7 year old grandson, who began playing ice hockey with a team after years away. He spent two days last week trying out for another very popular team, made the cut of 15 boys out of 200, and made the team the second day! Our entire family is amazed, since he isn't the greatest player. However, the coaches saw something spirited in him.
My other love of my life is my ice princess. My son texted me that she can complete perfect full axels. But the best news is that she was selected by the state of New York to compete in the New York Nationals! It's like the Olympics in New York. She will have to skate in Michigan. Her coach has to think about allowing her to perform in it, however. Yet, we are thrilled that she was noticed and asked!
I thought I'd share my happy news with my myLot friends. I can't share it on Facebook.

@DianneN I live for my sister's grandbabies as I don't have any of my own, maybe someday my sons will gift me with a grandchild. Who knows lol.

Awww - Doodles must have missed you . . . I'm sure he's glad you're back too!
That's so great for your grandson - congrats to him for making the team! Hope he has a most awesome season!
And wow for the Ice Princess! Oh I am jealous she has perfect axels! (Side note: I dreamt the other night that I was trying to do axels . . . I seem to float on ice in dreams only 
). I sure hope her coach will allow it to happen for her - that would be fantastic!!

Thank you! Doodles has been very clingy, but I love that because he's an alpha male! Both grandkids are loving school and their sports. The ice princess works so hard. I received another video of her axel at practice. Loved it!
As for you, you will always have the figure skater within you, day and night. It's part of who you are. Keep floating through those axels.

Thank you. I took this photo the day he arrived, but it was thundering while we were outside. He tried calming down on this chair, but eventually went upstairs to hide under the bed for an hour, poor baby,

@DianneN I think I misunderstood. I thought he went to Florida with you since you said he's here to stay until you go again, but someone else must have watched him elsewhere while you were there?

Wow that is so exciting the wonderful news about both of your grandchildren! With you being away I am not surprised at all Doodles is following you around everywhere he must have missed us mama so much! My cat is currently sitting near my feet patiently waiting for her breakfast time to arrive.

Thank you! My grandson is over the moon, and we will let her coach make the decision. He seems to know what's best for her. Doodles was listening to thunder and opera at the same time. The thunder won out and he ran upstairs to hide under the bed. Poor baby.

I can't share, because friends of my daughter in law may see it. She doesn't want to hurt other hockey playing or figure skating moms or their kids.
Yes, Doodles is black and shiny except for that touch of white (his bow tie) and white on his belly, his cummerbund. He's not called a tuxedo cat for nothing. Lol!

That's pretty cool about your grandkids. I don't know whether I'll ever keep it straight, but are the two brother and sister? I know she's about that age or maybe a year older now. Cool if she skates in Michigan, if she does I wonder where that might be? We have an indoor ice arena that's pretty large here in our city. If she comes here and you come too you'd have to let me know.
We have a lot of people come in for softball, baseball and other sports with both national and international competitions and soccer too, so I wouldn't be surprised if they came in for ice skating too, but that's on the other side of town so I might not hear about that as much as the others.
I'm not sure that I remembered Doodles is a cat. So, it sounds like you take Doodles with you whenever and wherever you go on your trips, unless maybe if you went to Europe or certain areas.

They are sister and brother, 22 months apart in age. I will definitely let you know if her coach lets her compete in Michigan. Hope you can come, too, so we could finally meet!
We keep Doodles with us when we are not in Florida. Otherwise, he stays with my son, since it's his cat. Long story.
