On April 28, 1987 at 1:02 pm I became a mom for the very first time. I will never forget how I felt that moment that I laid eyes on my beautiful little girl. I was so happy, excited and proud but I was also scared. I had no idea how to be a mom but I knew I would always try to be the best mom I could be. I've made many mistakes through the years but when I look at my beautiful daughter today I know I did alright. She grew from an adorable little girl into a beautiful woman who I am so proud to call my daughter. She is caring, loving, outgoing, strong, independent and an awesome mom to her beautiful little girl, Destinee. She is a good role model for her daughter and her soon-to-be step daughters. They look up to her. So today I celebrate her special day but I also reflex back on the time when they first placed that little girl in my arms and all the wonderful memories since then. I was 24 when she was born. My mom had me when she was 33 and my daughter had my granddaughter when she was 21. So how old were you when you became a parent for the first time? How old was your mom when she had you? It is not just my daughter celebrating her birthday today but two of my friends here on mylot are also celebrating. Happy birthday @nanette64 and @Jessicalynnt Hope you enjoy your special day!!

I was married at 18 and had my first daughter when I was 19 (I think back now and how crazy I was to marry so young). By the time I was 27 I had 4 kids and each one certainly was a blessing. Like you, I didn't know much about being a mom when my 1st daughter was born but she always says she was the guinea pig LOL. Happy birthing day to you and it's nice to hear that kids turn out well and you can share how proud you are of your daughter. Hope your daughter enjoys her 30th birthday

I was 23 when I became a mom. My eldest daughter was born in 2011. It's definitely a special moment. She is now five years old and will be starting kindergarten. I am definitely proud of my kids. Happy birthday to your daughter. She sounds like a special woman.

My mom was 23 when she had me and I was 32 when I had my first. And you are so right, it was an amazing day when both my sons were born.

@Happy2BeMe I was worried when I first got married, it took us 3 long tearful years before I got pregnant the first time, then I was fertile as hell and 4 months after my first was born I was pregnant again. My sons are 13 months 3 days apart.

We've been talking about that a lot lately as my son and wife are expecting their first. We were married when I was 18 and I was 19 when our first was born.

Happy thought for you on celebrating your daughter's birthday. I was 21 when I gave birth to my first child. My mother was 1 month shy of her 18th birthday when I was born.

In 2 weeks my first born will be 20.. I don't feel old enough to have a 20 year old. He was actually born the day after my birthday. Oddly enough, he was born right on his due date. He was born at 8:06 am.. so I spent most of my birthday in labor for him. It wasn't too bad though, I didn't really notice the contractions until about 8pm on my birthday, and didn't go in to the hospital until like 4am.. It was my 17th birthday. On May 12 I'll be 37, and on May 13 he'll be 20.

What a beautiful and touching tribute to your daughter-I'm sure that she is all of that, based on her Mom. Our childrens' birthdays are a big deal to us, and the first, that is such a lifetime milestone. We are the very same age, I got married the year that your little girl was born, and our son was born 2 years later. Those were 2 of the best things to ever happen to me, and for which I am very grateful.

Happy Birthday to you're daughter and to our MyLot friends on here, it is always neat to see what age each mother was when having there first child, working on genealogy i often times note that in my family tree.
