Niume stops paying

I’ve just had an email from Niume saying they can no longer pay their members for views. I think that is all they do pay for. It is mainly a photographic site and I wasn’t really comfortable putting up Vince’s photos so I didn’t put up very many. There was a minimum number of characters in the text area but most posts have very little in the way of text although some of the travel posts were really interesting and well written. Comments were mostly confined to ‘nice’, ‘great image’, ‘well done’.
I hadn’t made payout but then I spent very little time there. They have offered to download all of our data so I’m doing that. Not sure why but it seems the sensible thing to do. I know there are others here who contribute to Niume so I’m sorry for them as it is another source of revenue that has dried up.
The photo is one of my all-time favourites - a close-up of our native sundew.

Just figures, doesn't it? Glad we weren't too comfortable on the site @JudyEv

@JudyEv I only got one payout at the end of last year for $14 it was mostly due to an article I wrote that suddenly got great views. Since then nothing and I was up to only around $2 but I wasn't on there as often as I should have been.

@JudyEv It seems there is only one person who mentioned getting paid and it is someone here, just can't remember who!

@RasmaSandra I went there very rarely after the first two or three weeks. I had $3.75 owing so it wasn't much.

@lovebuglena You would have to wonder wouldn't you? It is an easy way for them to get out of paying you.

@JudyEv Someone shared on FB that he had made I think a few hundred bucks from what I remember, but when it was time for payout his account got terminated. I wonder why it was terminated... Was it because the earnings were high or because there was some violation?

Lots of earning sites come and go, at least they were still ethical to email and inform you, other sites simply disappear.

I stopped writing there a long time ago, the moment I noticed my number of views plummeting.

I didn't post anything but I did join and receive the email. All the newer sites aren't lasting very long

I'm cool with the whole "we're not gonna pay you" routine. It's happened so many times at so many other sites. Although some of the sites were not as courteous when they told their member. I expected it!
Have you ever tried submitting photos to dreamstime.com? I have a referral link if you want to sign up under me. But you can sign up on your own. I think it's free. The photo for this post is lovely. I'd be happy to use it everywhere! I'm going to share it to Pinterest. Your husband is a talented photographer.

Thanks for the kind remarks. I tried to find somewhere to thank Niume for letting us know about stopping payment but I couldn't really find anywhere. Thanks for the offer. It's really Vince's photos that are much the best and he has sites where he puts them so I probably won't at this stage. Maybe mine will be good enough later if I keep practising.

Vince's photo is stunning! I can see why that's your favorite. Sorry about the other site, though.

I gave up last pay period. I hink I was at one dollar and knew I would never make payout again. EEveyone left when the paying rate went to .05 per article of 400 + words and a million sharing sites.

@andriaperry When did the rate drop to .05? I feel so out of the loop--not that I was active there

@JudyEv I had cashed out many times before they changed the format of the site, upgraded, when ALL of them do this they get hacked and ripped off and then shut down.

@garymarsh6 We left on the 28th. It's now the 4th and we're in a campsite and it's raining 'softly' as it does in Ireland.

Thank you for your informative post about Niume. But this is bad news for these that look for work online. They are ethical. I planned earlier to work there too. Great thanks that your myLot post-discussion appeared to me here to save me to avoid to apply my useless efforts on this site. Probably they would refuse my registration but anyway you helped me not to give my valuable time there even making attempt to do such meaningless registration. It is important too! You saved me from disappointment after giving efforts and labor not to work properly and not to be paid. You are marvelous friend!
