Knackered?

I love new words. Or words I haven't seen or heard in ages. I thought this word seemed appropriate for this time of year. It means: Extremely tired. Exhausted. No longer working, especially after long and/ or hard use. From Merriam-Webster: "She was too knackered to join them for dinner. I'm absolutely knackered, so no pub-crawling for me tonight."

It is kind of "not quite a polite word" here in the UK, but my kids use it a lot. I prefer the Northern "reet lavvered" myself.
