Good News Job Interview

Well, folks, the job hubby was supposed to have started by now is really dragging their feet. When he went for the interview and the test, he was told that the job would start on October 4th. After getting his physical and not hearing anything he called the job placement company and was made aware that it would take longer because the place hiring is going back through the workforce it used last year to bring back what workers they could from that pool before the new hires. Well, that is not doing us any good! 
A local place right down the road, less than two miles from us, called him yesterday for an interview today. I hope he nails the interview and gets the job at a decent rate. It is literally, less than two miles down the road from our home. The other job was over 20 miles from home.

I hope all goes well. Having to drive a short distance rather than a long one is great too. My husband had to travel a distance for work and so did I. When we moved it was a quicker drive and much appreciated.

@rebelann I guess you have to look at it from many angles when you are deciding. I would be happy with either job for him right now.

Now that I've retired I can see how living close to where I work could have saved me tons of money as well as aggravation. Back then I thought it was about the money, ohhh well.

@shaggin I would love to hear from either company at this point. Right now, neither of them are saying much. We did find out that the first company will not bring anyone into work until November.

good luck. i hope he gets both jobs but he must decide which one is better for him, travel time, salaries, work conditions, etc.

@ridingbet that would be very fortunate. Thank you! The one further away would be better working conditions and possibly better pay for the work done. I would love if he got that job.

Praying that God will deliver a job that will work well for him, and one that will help you all out Financially. Many times you have to go thru the Fire to enjoy the rain.

I am so glad someone else called him and I hope he gets this one and then he can go tell the others that screwed around with him and didn't even bother to call him and tell him what they are doing to go screw themselves.

Its tough when you can't work, it must be a bit scary too wondering how you will live. I know your huband works hard and I'm sure he will always find a job when he needs one. Hang in there....and I know he's working now so thats great.

@PainsOnSlate we are blessed he has a good job at John Deere. He works through Manpower but he hopes to get hired on full time at John Deere.
