I'm Not Getting Better

Though the coughing has subsided somewhat, I still do have a chest cough and now I feel a head cold coming on. Add to that, I had to meet the doctor that did my biopsy yesterday at the hospital. To do that I still had to go to emergency and triage where they took my blood pressure and temperature. It appears I have a bit of a fever. Today I'm feeling weak and tired, my chest hurts (probably from coughing) and I'm just dragging. I hate missing church but I opted out after having a dizzy spell. To my surprise my husband went without me. He always tries to get out of church so I'm a little surprised by this... unless he went somewhere else and didn't tell me. Anyway, I'm sipping away on my echinacea tea and relaxing today. I hope I get better soon. Two weeks of this is long enough!

That was my Skittles experiment that I saw online. I thought I'd try it myself. I use it here from less uplifting posts.

My granddaughter has had croup for 2 weeks now. She just started getting sinus problems too. Poor kid. I have her taking an antihistamine at the suggestion of the NP. Have to run a humidifier too. Hope you are on the mend soon. Try molasses and black pepper for that sore throat. I read a post by someone here and they said that it helps when they have a sore throat.

My throat isn't actually sore. It feels sore when I first wake up... I think because it's dry. And the tea helps. It hasn't hurt all evening. Everything is off and on. I just want to go away already!

@patgalca When you get housebound because of illness you tend to get a bit antsy. I hope that you are at the tail end of this one. Big hugs to you.

@ElusiveButterfly I have been housebound from chronic illness for 20 years. I've gotten to the point that I get anxiety when I have to go out. But I remember when I had mono when I was 17 and stayed home for a month, I started to go stir crazy. My mom was afraid to leave me alone.

Well, I put a lemon wedge in the echinacea tea and that kind of dries out my mouth. I have actually used a two whole lemons. I'm sick of the tea but it does make my throat feel better.

Maybe it could be bronchitis. That can take a while to get better.

I thought about that. I'm not coughing constantly though. I feel though that it is turning into a head cold.

I hope they made sure it wasn't anything more serious while you were at triage. Feel better.

When you go to the hospital you can only go for one illness at a time, believe it or not. I may have to go back. But a guy at church told me last week his wife had a cough for 3 weeks. I guess I have to wait it out another week.
