How old was it?

So, anyway, since I am trying to declutter, and it was there I grabbed a ketchup packet from my stash, from some fast food meal of (who knows when) to put on my hamburger. To my surprise, instead of coming out red..the ketchup was black!!! I never saw that in my life..and didn't look very appetizing..needless to say, I got it off my burger hastily. Has your ketchup ever discolored? I decided the ketchup in my fridge was a better bet after that experience!!

Condiments change color when they are too old, especially if they are in plastic instead of glass containers.

Those packets should have an expiration date.

I have saved those little packets and end up tossing them out. I'll stick with my bottled ketchup and not worry about them expiring. I don't believe they have an expiration date on those packets either. Makes you worry a little bit.

It must have been well out of date. Occasionally I go through my pantry and throw out things that are well out of date.

I guess. I kind of though ketchup in a packet would be good forever though!

@snowy22315 I'm surprised sometimes that stuff I thought would last forever still have expiry dates.

lol. that's odd. I guess the ketchup must really be expired. I haven't experience it yet since I always check the expiry in every food that i am going to eat.

I think I am gonna toss the rest of the ketchup packets here because I have no idea when they were acquired.
