A wonderful opportunity for my granddaughter

Destinee phoned me yesterday evening with some exciting news. She has been chosen to play in a concert with the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra on Canada Day weekend in July. The venue is a two hour drive away so she will be travelling to practice a few weekends over the next month. The concert will be on July 2nd and it is an all day event.
As most of you know Destinee plays the flute and has been doing so for the past four years. It is a great honor for her to be chosen to be part of such a group and to take part in this concert. It will open up many more opportunities for her. Her dream is to someday be a part of Symphony New Brunswick. That is a long way off but the sky is the limit with her passion for music.
I guess we know where we will be going for that long weekend in July. I am really looking forward to it. I am so proud of her and so excited for her. What a wonderful opportunity.

@Happy2BeMe Oh I'll be thinking of you and giving thanks that you're still with us and more importantly that you are healthy. I was so scared of the outcome a year ago.

A big accomplishment for your granddaughter to be chosen, congratulations! I am sure she'll have a great time performing in the concert and that'll be a fun family trip to do too !!

That does sound wonderful. My nephews played the slide trombone all through school and got to go on some great adventures with their HS band including the Rose Parade and Disney World. My one nephew even played at Trump's inauguration.
