It Should be Illegal

I just went to get some shopping done for tomorrow. I'm bringing a treat for my pool pals tomorrow morning to help me celebrate the day. As I was heading to the store, a car, initially behind me, pulled around me, and took off like lightning from the light. When I saw the light down the road change to red, I thought, aha, he's got to stop. He didn't. He went through the gas station on the corner and out the side driveway so he wouldn't need to stop. It should be illegal to do that. I'm also certain the guy was driving way above the speed limit with as fast as he was going. Where are the cops when someone is obviously breaking speed laws, not to mention getting around traffic lights.
Have you ever gone around a traffic light by going into a driveway for a gas station or other store? Do you know whether doing so is illegal?
Anyway, just what I observed as I went out to do some necessary shopping. I've only scratched the surface for this month's grocery shopping, but due to my overstocking last month, I'm in good shape still for food.

When I was young, I did that a couple of times but it is now illegal to do that.

@1hopefulman Yes, we can. I've thought many times of going through a parking lot, or gas station, but never did. It's just not right or fair to other drivers.

I'm pretty sure cutting through the gas station , etc is illegal if you're trying to beat the light. Unfortunately there's never a cop around when someone is driving crazy

Jay did this in Saginaw one day, he cut through a bank parking lot, to avoid the red light at the corner. His statement to me was, 'You know this is illegal, don't you?' I didn't answer, because I actually didn't realize it, until that exact moment. Cutting through a gas-station to avoid a red light, is definitely against the law.
