FB Study..Withdrawl

I had to deactivate my Facebook for 24 hours as part of a study. Even though, I am not really enjoying it much anymore..I go there to play WWF and it is hard not to go on to the site, force of habit. I hope I don't forget..The study is sort of to gauge your addiction to the site. Also, an interesting component is how much it would cost for you to delete the site for 4 weeks.(They would pay you to do so) Actually, to be honest..not that crazy about FB, I am afraid if I didn't go there though and at least check it once or twice daily I would miss something important. I actually sort of wish I could delete FB permanently because most of it is BS. What say you?

I think that it's more than 3 weeks that I do not check my FB account. I am almost ready to close it.

I don't see myself closing it permananetly, but if I could limit myself to 5 minutes in the AM and at night..that would do me fine. I am tired of the same people posting the same kinds of things, over and over.

@snowy22315 FB has become a boring site where you can only find fake news.

@LadyDuck I don't really look at the news there, but I am sick of my cousins constantly posting their babble..and all the political stuff..is getting really old. I would enjoy deleting it permanently but from time to time there is something funny or useful on there.

People can be so judgemental and mean on Facebook that I really don't like it as much as when I joined 10+ years ago. Wow saying that much time has passed seems crazy but it's true. I like looking for local events to go to so that's a big part of what I do on there. I usually post a photo on Instagram and share it to Facebook but otherwise I don't write to many posts as people are just itching to start fights.

@snowy22315 agreed! I try to avoid any of that. Sometimes people are so rotten I have to chime in with my opinion to stick up for the person who is bent bullied. That pulls me in and stresses me out so I try to limit my time spent at Facebook and to unfollow people who post things all the time that upset me.

It has its uses but most of the time I find it annoying. I hate the way people fight on there.

If the pay was good enough, I know I could do it . There was a time when I was totally into FB and I didn't want to miss a thing . . . so I'd be on it constantly. But now I'm over it . . . I rarely post anymore . . . although I admittedly check it daily still (just for a few minutes - not hours like before). The thing is I don't want to delete my account for good. FB is a love/hate kinda thing.

@snowy22315 These days there are days that I totally do not go on FB - it's very doable. So are you going to go for the 4 weeks without?

@much2say I would have but apparently they weren't seriously offering it. Just wanted to get an idea of how much money it would take to go without.

I use it less and less. I find it a waste of time, but do enjoy keeping up with the family and close friends.

Hmm... Oh, where did you find this study? I would LOVE to do it. I mean, it might drive me a little bit crazy but I think at the end of the day it's better for me NOT to have it.

I check it out now but just to see Vince's photos from Nepal. Normally I don't use it at all.

Facebook is actually a good place to be connected with people we know. If you don't have important matters to do with FB then to delete it is not a bad decision.
