The coolest thing for me was when we went to King Tut showing. The coffin that he was laid in. This was many years ago in Boston,MA The other is Dinosaur in NYC This was sometime ago. We have one here locally and MFA in Boston. here is a bit of news on this. From online ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Tut probably died from a broken leg, scientists say, possibly closing one of history's most famous cold cases. A CT scan of King Tutankhamun's mummy has disproved a popular theory that the Egyptian pharaoh was murdered by a blow to the head more than 3,300 years ago.Dec 1, 2006

The museum here has shrunken heads - those are always a favourite. Also glow-in-the-dark rocks.

There is a statue here, it is male in front, and female behind. A mirror is placed behind the statue ..it looks like the lady is following the man. 4.24 of the link.

We saw King Tut at the Cairo Museum, and that was a sight to see. We also saw his empty tomb in the Valley of the Kings. My favorite was the Rosetta Stone and an unwrapped mummy at the British Museum in London. The Museum of Natural History in NYC has a blue whale and dinosaur we all love. We have a museum here that is devoted to dinosaurs.

@amadeo We saw the original King Tut in Egypt. We visit museums all over the world when we travel and those that come to our area at Yale and in NYC. We started bringing the kids to them when they were little, and now our grandchildren are thrilled by them. What's not to like? lol

I've never seen the King Tut display, but the museum in the city near where we used to live did have a real mummy in it. I remember going to the museum as a young student on a class trip and seeing the mummy for the first time, I thought it was cool, but in a way very sad. I felt sorry for the individual because they were not allowed to rest in peace (and quiet) but were on display. I also remember seeing lots of native hunting pieces and tools, and thinking how very cleaver they were to craft these items that had such great purpose.

We had the Egyptian Mummy exhibit here several years ago. It was fascinating to see King Tut's coffin and several others. We also had the dinosaur one, but I didn't get to that one. Another fascinating exhibit we had was a cold case exhibit and how forensics help solve cases.

We have a local museum that is filled with historic items. Mainly colonial things. It has been years since I have been to a museum. I do remember mummies and dinosaur bones, large crystal formations and such. The formations were my favorites at the time. Wish I could visit these museums again.
