A video has give viral of a couple if Firefighters stealing cell phones right out of the hands of people are the beach. When the stunned sunbathers asked why, the firefighters pointed to the kids playing in the water. If you are at the beach, the park, or otherwise going to something out with your kids, be there with your kids. The life you save may be theirs!

@ParaTed2k Since cell phones came into this world people are too busy being on their phone and not taking care of what they need to do. The firefighters are right in telling them to watch out for their kids. I understand why they took them because they have to learn responsibility. If anything happened to their kids while they were not paying attention they would feel terrible but it would be their fault. I am on my scooter a lot and people just stop in the middle of the street and are on their phones and do not move. I have to say something or sit there till they see me and hopefully move. The cell phones have taken over their lives. It is so so sad.

I almost flattened a young Asian kid of about 15 when he walked right onto the bike path looking at his cell phone. I screeched to a halt and spared him. He never did say "thanks" or "oh, sorry." He just kept on looking for Pikachu, or whatever the heck he was doing.

@TheHorse They never do. I come across many that just stop in their tracks looking at their cell phone. They are nuts and I want to take it away from them. I yell at them to pay attention.

Yes, especially if your kids are in the water, you need to be watching them, not your phone.

Do they KNOW that the people whose phones they're taking have kids running free? Or are they assuming based on age? Regardless, did someone give them this authority or are they just trying to make a point?

Making a point because they are tired of treating children's injuries because no parents were there but not paying attention.

Yep. I'm amazed when I see parents at the park using their cell phones and not playing with, or even watching, their kids.
