Waaheehee--I'm setting a new August MyLot goal today!

I know, I know. You don't set goals. It's all about the fun of interacting, and all that. But I just noticed that I had a couple of BIG MONEY days last week, and that I could reach FFFF.UUUU today if I push a bit. Why did I choose F and U as my totally arbitrary letters? Because Facebook reminded me that it's my birthday soon and asked me to set up a GoFundYourself page for "the charity of your choice" in honor of my birthday. Do you ever have friends and relations ask you for money for their favorite cause? It happens to me now and again, and it kind of ticks me off, as I feel it puts me between a rock and a hard place. Donate and then I'd have to donate to everyone who asks for money. Don't donate and I feel like I've let them down somehow. Anyway, I'm off to buy some beer and cigs, so I can be a MyLotting fool today. If you need a few extra comments on your posts today, apply here. I'm ready. Cha-ching!

Honestly? I hate that stupid "Charity donation for your birthday" crap on facebook... Makes me wonder just how much is actually going to the charity and how much is staying in the pockets of Mark Zuckendork.

I dislike it when Facebook tries to find more and more ways to weasel into our lives.

@TheHorse They are pretty much in it. Everything you log into online can be logged into through facebook. It's ridiculous.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Frankly, I rarely visit Facebook these days. In fact, most of the stuff on "my" page was placed there by others.

I don't donate for people's birthday causes. Maybe that means I suck.

I am sauntering along merrily without a goal or new posts but still hitting pay dirt (payout) every few months. Life is as good as it can be and my goal is to see another new year 2021 what with the stealthy virus playing hide and seek and marking its territory - siva

A lot of people make goals, but it is actually doing the work to get to them is the hard part haha I always mean to do the little Charity thing, but I forget to. I think iti s nice because even a dollar is great toan organization. I have donated to a few friends and their fundraisers, but only when it is towards organizations that I know are good and hopefully not corrupted.

Heh. I think I will. Just now I was taking a break and Googling "cis-gender privilege," which is mentioned somewhere on the BLM website. My head is spinning.

This month, it ain't gonna happen for me . . . not even if I try to push it. So we'll just add it to next month's "goal". I don't post charity donations, but I will donate to certain friends if I can. I usually don't post that I did donate . . . I don't need the world to know . . . but I will give a quick note to the receiver just to let them know I did.

I have donated TIME to Catholic Charities and other organizations. But I've only sent money to schools I've attended and a couple of local public radio stations.

Dammit Facebook really hates me because they never offered me that. I did have friend who was getting married and his future wife put up a gofund me account. Needless to say no one donated but a lot of people gave them money at the wedding. I was like damn this where it sucks to be poor and I need to get married.

At least they're not trying to tell us we NEED to raise money (like the Biden-Harris campaign's #30330 text-messages tell us they need to raise 'more money than Trump's campaign!')

Funny. I'll be voting for Biden, but I get these insulting emails from Trump's campaign every other day. I think a Conservative friend sent them my email as a practical joke.

It's happening a lot these days on FB. For my birthday donate to xyz in support of this or that cause. Or something like that it would say. I would never do that. Something else I've noticed is that when you are in Messenger you can send money to any person you are chatting with there. Wonder how that works.

@Bensen32 Woo hoo! I wonder if he had to do research to see if he'd lose votes by admitting that. If I were a Biden OR a Trump strategist, I'd worry about "courting" the common sense people in the Middle, not the "already converted."

That's such a good idea to set goals, I don't because my work schedule keeps me from fulfilling them. It just makes me upset when I can't keep them. Well, have a great day MyLotting..... (((hugs)))

Which day is your birthday? I hate when Facebook asks to "donate for charity"... I donate to the Charity I want and in the country where I want.
