How many people work online? What do you have to do to really make any money?

I constantly see advertisements for online work. Most of them seem like scams to me. I go by the rule of never paying to work for someone else. If the company is offering a job, why do they want to collect money from you first? There are a lot of survey opportunities online. Do you feel like yelling out: I have something to say!!! There is a company that offers sweepstakes and games for participation. There are real companies that offer compensations for opinions. You just can’t make enough to quit your job or anything. If you do enough of them, I suppose you could have enough money for a movie once in a while. Is it worth sitting online for 6 hours to make $5.00? That is the bottom line to any work being performed. I have these five email advertisers that send me emails on a daily basis. They all offer compensation for various degrees of participation. Inbox is one that offer 4 adverts in one email! I like the fact I can choose which advert to view. Getting paid to try products seemed like a good idea. I later found that those companies have figured out legal loopholes to either delay refunds or negate possibilities of refunds all together! You really have to be careful when you have the items shipped out to you. Many refunds and compensations are time sensitive. Snap is a fairly good site. I don’t get very many new emails from them. They always seem to send the same ones to me. When I sign up with this one, TicTic Cash I just figured why not. When one promissed to send me earnings, it really sounded promising. These are just to name a few. There are many more companies that do not offer open enrollment. You must be referred by another member through valid emails. I have learned some tricks of the trade but there are new variations everyday. What have you learned and gathered while working online? Have you been scammed or tricked into anything? Maybe you have some advice you would like to share?

I see where you are coming from. I have the same concerns. I have been lucky enough to stay away from the scams. If you add all the various sites together, there is some pocket change on a daily basis. It all adds up in the end. Although I'm not sure if everyone really wants to read 20-50 emails a day just to make $1!!! I participate in reading emails, testing products and services, and online surveys. You really have to do various sites and as many as you can to get anywhere. I have some of the sites I use posted in my profile. Come by and see if you want to add them to your list. The ones I have posted have been upfront and honest for the most part. I like the sites that are straight forward and no catch involved.

There are a lot of genuine online survey sites around the place, I have been paid by some (though they are mostly Australian based) What you need to do is remember that you don't need to pay, there's a lot of free online survey companies you can join. Just make sure you take the time to really check them out before joining. Also remember that you won't get rich taking surveys, for the most part you only get a couple of bucks and once you reach the determined pay out amount it can take several months for you to receive the money. I'm a member of several survey sites and they give me a little extra money to go with the bulk of my online work.

I tried treasure trooper. I have completed offers after offers after offers and have only been approved for 4.50 so in my opinion it's not worth your time to waste all that time completing offers for $4.

I've been working online for a little while now with some success (I still have my offline job so in no way am I making a fortune, but it's growing steadily) My biggest rule of thumb has always been if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. If you really want to start making some serious money online, you need to be prepared to put some honest time and effort into it. To me common sense says that all those sites that offer you an incentive to do something means it's going to be very little pay for what in effect is a lot of work. As good as what myLot appears to be (and I've only been a part of it for a few days) you can't come in here and expect to make a fortune - but you may make enough to kick start you on to something else or to give you that extra bit of pocket money each month, and as I've discovered it's just fun to come and meet new people :-) The bottom line is that you don't need to pay money to earn money - there's plenty of sites that can show you how to earn online for free. And if you're prepared to put in the time and effort to truly build your online business and have the patience to go with it, you will eventually be rewarded.

I've never been scammed or tricked into anything. There were a few times that I was tempted to buy "training materials" and such for working online but I decided against it in fear of being ripped off. I don't know of ways to make a full time job income online but I know of legit ways to make a bit of extra cash montly by completing free offers, reading emails, completing surveys, etc (I've actually been paid for doing those things) Due to a recent discussion I read (where mylot actually stated that it's OK) I will post my referral links incase you're interested in looking into these things. Just so everyone is aware, posting referral links ARE allowed when it is about the topic, but you're not allowed to post them in random discussions.

I think there are lots of scammers out there and you should not pay fees under any circumstances to join various earn online projects. The best online stuff is free to join.

streak_tlu Sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with you :-) I don't know what it is you do online so I realise that I can't be 100% positive. But if you are prepared to put in the time and effort you can earn just as much, if not more, through using free tools and resources etc as what you can if you paid for the same things - for the most part the difference is that it either may take a fraction longer or may require a little more input to get it up and running. Having said that I know that once you're earning enough through your free programs, often re-investing some of the money in things that will help improve what you're already doing can be a good idea.

Ive tried it for a few weeks now. I am not completely convinced yet. I think its more advantages if you are a USA citizen, and the rest of the world has to be happy with the crumbs!

This is a fairly true statement. It's definitely harder to be involved with some of these things if you're not a US citizen. You COULD purchase Private Label Rights for under $8 bucks though and sell those at 100% profit. Just get the link and plug it to your frients -- it's EASY profit for sure. Best of luck.

I work for Cha Cha and it’s a great, flexible way to make a little money at home while taking care of my son. I help people with internet searches either through live chat or text messaging. It’s super flexible. I can just log on whenever and do as much or as little as I want. Depending on the questions I usually make around $4-$10/hr. If you are interested and want to find out more email me… I’d be glad to answer any questions. Rachelcaron at hotmail dot com

Stop copying and pasting someone else's response and claiming it as your own. This was copied from page one of the responses to this discussion. If you can't think up your own response, then don't respond. It's quite obvious that this is copied and pasted, because you started and ended in the middle of a sentence, besides the fact that I read the responses on page one already. You have been reported for abuse of Mylot terms.

Oops, my bad. It was the discussion itself and not a response that you copied and pasted from. Sorry for the mizup, but it's still copy and paste, and still against Mylot terms, and you are still reported for abusing those terms.

If you are the kind of skpetical minded person then you will never succeed in online jobs or i must say that online career is not for you. I am invovle in many online jobs and i never scammed by them. i know i work good from them and i never think of any negative from them.. my friend trust is the virtue in online jobs,, if you will never trust the company that you are in online, you will never suceed. hope that helps.. also you can join us and start to earn money now... http://www.fx-mails.com/pages/index.php?refid=domenyag

I've worked online doing a couple things. Once I did an actual job from home, where I was supposed to make $10 an hour, but usually made $7 an hour or so due to their messy writing. I was editing horoscopes. I now make most of my online money by writing articles (see my discussions I've started if you haven't already), and also by doing stock photography. But I don't do either enough to make it like a real job. Because I also work.

http://www.emailcash.com.au/join.asp?refer=G84126 I've been a part of a website called Email Cash for over 2 years now. You earn points that you can exchange for cash by reading emails, playing games, answering surveys and much more. You aren't going to get rich quick using this site, however it's a great way to earn some extra cash to help out with bills ect... You can get paid directly into your bank account or have a cheque sent out to you. The site is available for people worldwide. Check it out and let me know what you think, as I said I've been happy with it in the past.

Just remember this, any work, even if it is online requires a good amount of work, no matter what.
