Are you planning on spending less in 2007, or are you planning on spending more? I'm planning a very frugal 2007, working hard to reduce, reuse and recycle, and also to make our money stretch as far as possible by careful planning and budgeting. I'm really looking forewards to the challenge, seeing how long I can go without spending anything then wen we do make a purchase making sure its been carefully thought out first so its definately what we want. Any frugal tips for a money saving 2007?

I'm planning on spending much less. I'm already pretty frugal, but it seems like there is no end to ways to save when we put our minds to it. Some of the best frugal tips I know: Take advantage of freebies like Freecycle and product samples. Never go to a store when you're "hungry" for something new, whether that's a physical hunger or psychological one. Stretch cleaning and personal care products by only using what you really need. That's a lot less than manufacturer's would have you believe. Before throwing anything out, give yourself time to think of ways to reuse it.

My plan this year is to be more aware of what I am buying and applying the rules 1. Do I really need it 2. Does it serve my long term goals 3. Is it good for the planet Also I will use our public library more for all sorts of media instead of buying, books, cds, dvd's magazines Finally I will go back to growing some of my own vegetables

I definitely am going to spend less in 2007. For one thing, you don't own your things...they own you....you have to provide a place for them, insure them, worry about them, move them, make room for them, take care of them and it is a full time job just organizing everything. I think you are smart to frugalize your life and make it simplier. I, too, am determined to cut down on the buying and use what I have. Cooking from scratch is healthier because you are not eating all the additives, fat,salt,sugar,etc.etc. that is found in packaged food. Plus...it is more creative to make your own meals. Good Luck on your endeaver....stick with it!

I would love to try that. It is very hard budgeting and not spending for me. But I do try to use coupons when I have them.

I have started searching for items on Freecycle. I need a new monitor for our grandson's computer. Hopefully we will get one for him. I also am very frugal when it comes to spending money. I shop at the Goodwill Store and our local discount stores.

Freecycle is great, you sometimes have to wait a little while for just what you need to turn up, but the generosity of people never fails to amaze and hearten me :)

well definitely i am trying to to spend less this year or you may call it frugal 2007. I'll be trying to cut short on the money i spend on my clothes, cut short on the money i spend on junk fodd. And another important thing which i think i can do is let my girlfriend pay for the dinners sometimes now and i think its definitely worth giving a shot.if it works then it can save a huge chunk a money and if doesn't then it may save even larger amount of money!!!

I'm working on reducing as much as possible. Getting bills lowered by trying to make the house more energy efficient. Get the lower energy using light bulbs, fixing any windows that leak, and other ideas along those lines. I also look at what I need versus what I want. That's the hard part sometimes determining if you really need it or if it's just a want. Wants can wait till later type thing and I try to do that.

I am planning on cutting back expenses and saving more money. I know it is really tough to adjust for us, but we try.
