Coin shooting is another excellent thing you can do with your detector. The best places to coin shoot is old parks, old homesteads, old dumps, old swimming holes. The older the better! Where are some tips on finding hidden caches and how to coin shoot. Doorways...the porches are always a good spot to start, old coins fall out of pockets, etc. Clothes lines. Look for cuts in trees, usually you will find two trees corresponding with one another, this is where they hung their clothes. Under clothes lines are also good. Coins and rings fell under pockets when hanging clothes up. Stairs are also good spots to coin hunt at the bottom of stairs the people lost coins that fell into the cracks of the stairs. Old tree houses are also good, look under these, kids are forever losing money! happy hunting! :) krissy

so krissy, have you made gains doing this? It sounds funny, but could be really lucrative. My job earns me quite a bit when I work, so I would get laughed out of town if I did this, and scorned upon. Yes, scorned! something for the young to do I guess! *LOL* Happy hunting!

People of all ages do this. And people laugh at me, but guess who's laughing when I come home with something great, it's me laughing at them, they are no longer laughing, but interested in how they could find some stuff too. I got my neighborhood kids begging me everyday to go metal detecting in the field in our neighborhood. So I will be going out and teaching them stuff and try to help enrich their lives just alittle more! krissy

Makes my fingers itch to get going, but I will not be able to afford a good detector for a long long time. I will keep my hopes up, though. Thanks for the neat info.

Well if that is how you think, that is how it will be...you will not find anything if you don't have a positive attitude about it. Hey, you look so familiar, did you ever live in orlando florida before...I swear, you look like someone I knew along time ago, or you have a twin out there somewhere! krissy

well if nobody else is doing it, I would check the laws of your country and see if they allow people to metal detect, if so, you could be sitting on top of a fortune, since you will the only one with a metal detector. krissy

Krissy it is grand good game. did you play anytime ? The peak at which we enjoy the outcome is ever rememberable. Is it not so ? Always shoot with sharp goals.Proper parctice makes it to win the end. When you reach that end the pleasure cannot be explained here. One has to be there and enjoy. How many times you play ,Krissy ?

So Krissy, you have one of those detectors? Where did you get it from? Do you really find coins in those places that you mentioned? Seems like it could be exciting to do. Thanks for sharing it.

We didn't use a detector but we did coinshoot under bleachers after a Fourth of July celebration. These ideas you share once again are great for people when out and about and make use of some fun time. Thanks for sharing these tips of finding metals!!

yes, they are great. Hey even without a detector you can find things if you get down to look for them. :) Bleachers are always good, when I was a kid a friend of mine used to go and collect the change from under the bleachers and would leave with a pocket full of pocket change! thanks for sharing! :) krissy

i think what you do is equalent to stealing only, except that there is a difference in that, this time you are stealing from mother earth herself.. whatever's found underground belongs to the government and no particular individual... try to remember that next time...

OMG, are you for real? that is such a Hypocritical thing to say! You want to get me started on stealing from mother nature, we are all guilty of that! The salt you eat, does it not come from the salt mine that someone goes out and harvest for your food? Someone went out and took it from mother nature, didn't belong to them, belonged to mother nature! Have you ever went fishing? Well if you have then you stole from mother nature! That fish didn't belong to you, it belonged to the lake and mother nature! Regardless if these things help sustain life, if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, stealing is stealing. the oil you put in you car, is taken from deep in the bowels of the earth, it belongs to the earth, yet, man has sucked it out of the ground and maked it into products for our car...this is not a life sustaining product....for real it's stealing from mother earth! Do you eat meat? When ever you eat a animal, you are eating something that was stolen from that animal and mother nature. They breed to keep their kind going, not for us to eat, if they had a freewill, do you think their will would be to be on our dinner table? No they would want to live......so this is stealing the life away from that animal, which belonged to them. regardless if you are directly responsible or indirectly responsible...you are still guilty of stealing. I don't know which one is worse the ones that goes out and takes from the earth, or the one that pays someone to do it for them. Everytime you go and buy these things you are paying the pusher to do your dirty work for you! which makes you just as guilty as us! Futhermore, as long as there are people in this world starving and doing without the things they need for surive, I will be here helping them figure out how to make their lives just alittle bit easier. If this sends me to hell, then I geuss I will go...but when god asks me why did I take from the earth, I will reply, to help give you the things you needed and to help feed you. We are all a part of god and so when we help one another, we are doing it to god too. Remember that the next time you bash me for stealing!!!!!!!!!!! TRY TO REMEMBER THAT THE NEXT TIME! krissy

Good survey i think you are very well experienced in coin hunting i hope so and even i think i knew where to find or hunt the coins but i have not succeded i here so it ll be god if it is started and while playing if we find the money then we think we are luckier and some might curse us for that i think we should not make somebody unhappy for that it might be some one who had heard the cash by struggle or something.

Hello. I have also searched for coins with a metal detector. Alot of people lose coins on beaches. We like to hunt old church grounds, parks, parking lots, etc. You can find alot of things. We have found old forks and anything metal and some were valuable old items.

I bought a new metal detector last year. I have found .35 cents in my yard. I know its not much but each find was exciting. Since then it has snowed over and we are waiting for the spring thaw. I am so ready for spring and camping. Id also like to get into prospecing. I have been watching a show called Gold Fever and its got me intersted. Has anyone else viewed this show. I might be Tom Massies biggest fan!

That's my favorite show, and I also like the best places to find cash and treasures, got some wacky lady on there, but great places and tips on finding treasures. You should join the G.P.A.A(The gold prospecting association of america), their book has all kinds of places to hunt for gold. and also if you live near the carolina slate belt, there are many placer nugget deposits in this belt, you could go stream hunting and pull out some really nice nuggets. krissy
