If you enjoy an author, do you try to read all of his/her books? If I enjoy an author I try to read all their books, especially if they have a series. Which depresses me in the end when i am finished.

So tell us which authors you have ben following! I do it, too. Some of my favorites are John le Carre (who is very old and writing little any more--he firt appeared in the 1960s with _The Spy Who Came in from the Cold_), Tom Clancy, Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, the authors of V I Warshawsly, Stephanie Plum, the alphabet mysteries and some others. I ejoy seeing the characters develop as well as reading their adventures.

I went on a John Le Carre kick for a while, but I haven't read anything of his in several years. I keep meaning to start catching up on them.

I have read all of Nora Robert, Judith McNaught, Julie Garwood, Jude Devereaux, and Joanne Lindsay. I also tend to collect these books and read them over and over. I especially enjoy Nora Roberts whether she is writing as herself or as J.D. Robb. Great Books!

Yes, I try to read the complete works of an author, but haven't succeeded always. I tried it successfully with writers like Hemingway and Maugham, tried Golding to an extent. Liked to do it with John Grisham but got bored after sometime. I am thinking or reading Rushdie, Eco and Atwood this way...but who knows what will happen! There must be many people who love this kind of oeuvre studies in literature, as in other art forms.

I tend to collect and read all the books of an author whose book that I have read for the first time impressed me. The first author whose works I have followed was the late robert ludlum, next is ken follett... john grisham too but haven't had the time reading his newer novels then, I also love the books of william diehl and sidney sheldon... For me, reading all the books of my favorite authors give me a feeling of self-fulfilment and incomparable happiness. It's as if in reading these, I feel I am in unity with the author himelf or herself.. it's as if I was he or she... silly thought, but it's how I feel :)

Typically I do. Like I've read almost all the Dean Koontz, Mary Higgins Clark, Patricia Cornwell, Anne Rice...just to name a few. Now I'm really into the Anita Blake books by Laurell K. Hamilton and I'm trying to get through them all.

Yes, I do the same. I've read all of Alice Hoffman's books and have read "A" through "Q" in Sue Grafton's alphabet mysteries series.

My manager just gave me a bunch of books he was finished with, and "R is for Ricochet" is in there. It looks decent, but I haven't read any previous ones.

I've read them all, A-R, and can assure you that Ricochet is as good as the rest!

Sometimes I do - Note my Iyanla Vanzant post - she is one of my all time favorites. I used to read a lot of Steven King but then sort of stopped that. My partner is really into Patricia Cornwell. I read a couple of her books and liked them, but with advanced aga, reading is something that I don't enjoy as much as I used to. I find it to be too much of a chore having to find the right glasses, then the right chair with the right amount of light, and sometimes needing a magnifying page. LOL - growing old is not glamorous at all!~Donna

I absolutely love series authors, because I'm a person who reads very quickly. I hate it when I get to the end of a book, and there's no more to read. So I tend to go for authors who have a really long series, like Piers Anthony (30-some-odd books in his Xanth series) or Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time series, 11 books, each is about 500-600 pages). I love getting through a book and being able to just pick up the next one and keep going! Although, I must say, this does lead to spending large quantities of my hard-earned cash on books...

yes when I enjoy an author, I do try to read all of their books especially if they have a series. I then hope for another series of hope that in between other books, they will come up with more on that series. I also find it hard when I discover someone to get the earlier books in the series.

I have several authors I follow. I follow Stephen King, Nora Roberts, and V.C. Andrews are just a few. I like the Circle Series by Nora Roberts and the Cutler family saga by V.C. A ndrews. I try to read everything these 3 authors write.

Oh yes, I do the same as you. I hate it when the series end. Yet I complain if they mess it up when extending the series lol. But I do love those authors. It is not always the case that if you like one book/series from them, you will like the rest as well. But no harm taking a look and checking the other books out. ;-)

Hi! I haven't really made a habit of following certain authors, but I'm more likely to read an author if I've enjoyed one of his/her books in the past. I just bought "Everyone Worth Knowing" by Lauren Weisberger because I enjoyed "The Devil Wears Prada" so much. The book was very different from the movie, but that's common anymore. I would like to read more of Sophie Kinsella's books, too, since I liked, "Can You Keep a Secret?" :-)

The latest author I've followed, is Mosby. Yes, boring I know, reference books. But, I understand the writing so completely... Before that it was the likes of Sandra Brown, and Kathleen Woodwiss. And, yes, I read every book I could get my hands on! I like the series books, too!

I try to read all books of an author only when it is a series and if the first ones in the series I've read really interested me. I usually base my readings on the title and synopsis of the book, not on the author who wrote it because sometimes I may like one book this certain author has written but did not like the other he has written.

I like to follow Dean Koontz he is my fav author of all time! Usually when I pick up one of his books I have a hard time putting it down until I am done. I also follow the Harry Potter series I am so sad that this series is about to come to its end in july but I have already pre-ordered the book!
