The Bible Is True

Forever, O LORD, Your Word is settled in heaven. --Psalm 119:89 As we survey the world scene with Bible in hand, we know we do not worship an absentee God. He is standing in the shadows of history, still working to bring His plans to completion. Therefore we are not disturbed by the pictures of chaos, violence, bloodshed, and war that fill our television screens and flood our newspapers. We know these are the consequences of humanity's evil and sin, caused by our rebellion against God. Every headline, every news report confirms what the prophet Jeremiah said centuries ago; "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). But never forget: GOD will speak history's final word. Every day the world moves closer to the time when Christ will return, Satan will be defeated, and God's perfect plan will be fulfilled. No matter how foreboding the future, the Christian knows the end of the story--and it is glorious! Don't lose heart. The best is yet to be! --from the book "Hope for Each Day" by the Rev Billy Graham

Well . . no offense or anything and I'm not looking to start a fight or an argument. But I believe that the Bible's a fictional book with a few real facts, a few good teachers, and a few misconceptions, contradictions, and a few historical inaccuracies. But being a poor student of history, and the inaccuracies have mostly to do with dates, I can't prove what I'm saying. Bad memory for numbers I have. So..at least you know why I don't believe it. I'm in no mood to prove a word..so whatever. It's not that bad f a thing to believe in compaitively to some other stuff peopl believe in. It just never quite fit for me. Didn't feel write. But to each his own, huh? Or her own, as is the case 'casionally. The heart sometimes needs to be interpretted in my opinion..since it speaks differently than the brain..so I always considered your own thoughts to occasionally be the deciever. But that's me heh ^_^

...the biggest deciever is the idea of "hell" (it's a mistranslation, as far as the bible is concerned, and the word should read "the grave" - the story of Jesus is, he overcame the grave for everyone.) But think of this, this idea of an eternal torturous hell.. with no relief ever.. What is such a thing saying about God? His nature and character? Let's face it. It thoroughly covers his face, and hides who he is.. or might be.. I'll tell ya this, If there is a supreme power, it can only be perfect, for even the great spirit and spark and breath of life, in order to remain Living and aLive, can only be Excellent. (Perfect.) This means that the 'end' result (of all this) can only be the most perfect 'end' result, or the absolutely best 'end' result. Nothing else is possible. This idea of an eternal torturer (or tolerator of eternal torturing) just don't jive.. The ancient word for so called "hell" was the hebrew "sheol" and it always meant "the grave". There was never any whiff or smoke or any suggestion whatsoever of any type of 'hell' - that is a holdover idea from other ancient religions.. Just wanted you to know that.. :))

"When you see the abomination of desolation standing on the mount...." Then is the time to...... Don't let the world fill your heart with fear. Listen only to Him. Don't let the devil steal your joy, rather rejoice in Him that He gave His only begotten Son for us... Don't 'cha jus' love it! God Bless You Springlady.

Yes, the Holy Bible is true. It is the Word of God and it is the truth. I am a Christian and I am a servant of God. I follow the Christian religion in the Holy Bible. I was baptized into Christ on October 1, 1989.

Yes, it includes the Old Testament. You can't just believe parts of the Bible. Either you believe the entire Word of God or none of it.

Parts of the Biblical account are true. Did you ever notice that most of the promises of GOD happen but not as expected. The Jewish nation expected a Messiah but they never knew that the Messiah was among them in the form of Jesus, in fact they participated in having Jesus killed, crucified to prove that he (Jesus) is really GOD. They were let down again because this great GOD actually appeared to die on the cross. When Jesus returns not one Jewish person outside of the close circle of believers is convinced that Jesus was actually the Messiah. The Islamic people know that Jesus existed, yet the Jewish people deny. How about the story of Joseph, or Job? What about the gifts in Mathew, what if I was actually Jesus and my return to Earth this time is not to be GOD but to convince as many people as possible to simply believe that I live. If you know me and Love me then you can have eternal life. If you love me and share the light that is the Christ in your heart and you become a true Christian because of the teachings of Christ then you allow Jesus into your life and become a new creature in Christ and then you become alive with Jesus and we can see the Light of Christ in you and this allows everyone to become a Child of GOD. A true Christian would seek to be known as the light of Christ and a Child of GOD. Or this would be visible in their life even if they don't profess to believe in GOD or Jesus. Note that the key is to help others, tell the truth and to live with Christ in your heart. I know this contradicts what is taught in the Bible and most religions, but it is the truth. Take it or leave it.

So you read the bible for yourself or do you always rely on other people's intrepretations. I fear for people like you. YOu have no mind of your own. Your next step in life is Jonestown or the Manson Family. Open your mind. GOd gave you a brain, use it. Read the Book, cover to cover. Form your own opinions. Until you do this, your teachings mean nothing.

Yes I do read the Bible. I also like to read devotionals and listen to evangelists like Rev Billy Graham and Dr Charles Stanley. They help me to understand things in the Bible. They can sometimes word things a lot better than I can! lol! God bless.

I agree with cyntrow, you talk a lot about the bible, you say the same things over and over but you do not seem to have your own opinion. You only seem able to quote scripture but not able to decipher them or even explain them. You are like a sheep following blindly.

I believe in the Truth...God's Truth. I know He is perfect and I know His Word to be true. I'm not the best at writing about God, but I try. My talent is really singing His praises. My avatar is the cover of my CD and it is songs of praise and inspiration and I sing these songs from my heart to praise Him. God has given us each special talents to use for His glory. God bless!

True, True, True! It's so sad that so many people don't believe the Bible because they are only hurting themselves by believing what they do. I live by faith and while it is certainly not easy, I found that God is faithful to His Word and His promises if I don't give up. One person who commented said that the Bible is fairytales. Actually, the Bible is a manual on how to live and there are over 7,000 promises in the Bible for us if we choose to do things God's way. I think that the only reason people believe the Bible is a fairytale is because they haven't bothered to really read it and study it. Or they read it with the expectation that it is not true. I consider myself fortunate because I've had a relationship with Him since I was very small and never had someone lie to me early in life about God's Word being fairytales. I only wish I'd learned it better back when I was a child so that I could have avoided a lot of the mistakes I've made over the years.

There are over 7,000 promises in the Bible would any of these promises also be curses? If a Brother sins against a Brother what is the gift? If you believe the Bible is the inerrant word of GOD you then have to believe that I am the Christ that has returned and you must see the Light of GOD in my life, and you should know my testimony and care about the lies that were told about me and you should seek GOD's justice for the criminals in our world. It is all in the guide to life, and while you're at it you don't want to be a Narcisist do you? You see everything works together for good, or we all die, because there is a man in the White House with a finger poised over a button and ready to launch the final blow to humanity. Is this a good day to die? There will be no more tomorrows for your children or your friends or their children. The problem is the structure of religion and the books... A good guide for life would provide for accountability. Most people are good and most people don't want to be a part of the killing, but who is in control and could you do anything about the direction our leaders are taking us? You don't really believe do you? Prove it...

I believe every word of the Bible to be true. I believe it to be the Word of God to us. We are not to put our trust in man, because we are only human and we sometimes fail. God never fails and He is in control even when things seem to be hopeless. With Christ in our life, we have awesome hope! We need to fear nothing. This world will one day end along with all the evil in it. What a glorious Day that will be when we see our Lord Jesus Christ!

All very true, even here on myLot nearly every day there are discussions about this horrible thing happened or that happened and every day it's the same thing, why. The bible tells us why all these things are happening and it's only going to get worse. Praise the Lord we have salvation to save us from a life of eternity such as what is happening now.

Yes God is daily my delight; my hope and my joy. And the joy of the Lord is my strength. In the presence of the Lord is fullness of joy. He is more real to me than what I can hear and see in this earth. His banner over me is love. I can not conceive just how many times per day His minds turns to me just because He loves me.
