Do you talk to your cat?

Cats were merely animals, but they also seem to act the human way. They can interact, only that they can't talk and comprehend human language but they can send you a message through their actions. I do interact with cats and sometimes I'm used to talk to them though they don't know what I say because their language is different from us. But I do believe that they can understand...

I talk to my cats all the time, and I'll swear that they can understand me, I'll ask them if they want some biscuits or if they want to go outside and they'll always answer with a little meow or a burrup. Sometimes I'll leave an upstairs window open for them to come in and when they come back through it they always announce their presence, as if to say Hello I'm back!

I talk to all of my animals! I have a dog, two cats, a bunny and 16 guinea pigs. Every single one of them responds in one way or the other to my talking to them. I know they understnad a lot more than people give them credit for. Both cats will walk into the room I am in and meow to me that they need something.(old cat taught new much younger cat) I get up and ask them "What do you want buddy?" They will start walking towards what they want and then will look back over their shoulder to be sure I am following them! They either walk to the water bowl, food bowl or door to the sun porch and look at me again. If I am not going fast enough they meow again! We communicate all the time!

I talk to my cats. I tell them hi and ask them how they are doing and if they are purring I ask them what they want. I think that cats can understand you and what you say.

Yeah, I believe they do. Perhaps, we are not just aware of it.

Yeah, I talk to my cat all the time. It's almost hard not to, just out of habit! Whenever I talk to my cat, she always meows at me as if she's talking back to me. It's so cute!

Hehe, maybe, other people are not just used to do what you do. Sometimes, I also thought our neighbors also think that way too. But I don't mind them.

Yeah, they can also respond to us, but they can't just speak human language so they just talk back using their way. I remember, when we were telling our cat to get out of the house, it just say "meow" that seem as if it was complaining - lolz.

I do talk to my cat, and it's funny cause she talks back. When I say something to her, she will meow back at me, it really is cute. I like her body reactions when I come home after a weekend away. She meows and runs around. I ask if she misses me she meows and curls around my feet.

Sure they can understand. They might not want to do what you tell them to do, but that's another question. Only today I was going out to take the waste bin out and one of my cats followed me. As I did not want him to follow me outside, I said to him "Go on now, go back in" and he turned right around, went back, sat down and watched me go out. He was still sitting there a few minutes later when I came back in.

I talk to my cat all the time and imagine that she understands me. Sometimes, I think she does, like when I tell her to play quietly because it's not time to get up yet. She usually goes away for about half an hour. She's like a four-legged snooze alarm. And, I always tell her what I'm doing and why. When my husband calls and I'm not home, he leaves a message on the answering machine talking to her too. Then, when I play it back, she sits on the floor looking at the phone as if she understands what he is saying. I'm guessing it's because she hears her name, but yeah, we talk to our cat.

How sweet your husband is not only to you, but also to your cat -^v^- I wonder how cats know the time of their masters as they wake up in the morning...

I talk to my cats all the time. And when they meow at me, I talk to them some more. I think that they understand the tone of our voices and they enjoy it when we talk to them. If one of my cats is in another room and meows, I talk to them and ask them to tell me more. Sometimes they talk more and sometimes they are just asking me to come into the room they are in. I love talking to my cats.

I talk to my cat all the time, I tell her I love her, or I yell at her, lol. I think they know if your mad, or happy by the tone of your voice, if you yell, I think they know you are mad and they did something wrong, but if your talking in a cutsie baby talk way, they know you love them

How sweet... You're cat is surely lucky, she has a master/friend like you.
