My family is just like yours in that we do not use heat until we absolutely have to. We have a gas fireplace in the living room that is the first heat we will turn on, but that's not until we just can't stand the cold any longer. The overhead doesn't come on until the maximum sustained temperature outside continuously does not reach above freezing. Our house is gas heated, so it can get pretty ... |
 | tonika1980 responded to a discussion called What size bed do you sleep on? in questions & answers. 1 month ago
I sleep on a queen size bed with my hubby and usually our youngest daughter. I would love for double that amount of space considering that between the two of them, I am left with just enough room for my body, with no turning space. |

As much as I hate to admit to it, yes, I did do a bit of backtalking. My mom and I used to get into arguments that would go on for a few days. But, it wasn't until I was 16 years old that I did this. You know, the age when all I could think about was being with my friends or boyfriend, and didn't want anyone telling me I couldn't. As far as my children go, the oldest two are 13. They are consta... |

I was always told that when you dream of snakes they are representing your real life enemies. If, in your dream, you are able to defeat the snake, then you will defeat your enemies in life. If not, then your enemies will defeat you. |
 | tonika1980 responded to a discussion called Do you still breastfeed your baby when he already has teeth? in mother. 4 weeks ago
I breastfed my daughter until she was two and a half years old. She had a mouthful of teeth, and yes, it was quite painful. I was determined to continue feeding her though, because I was told that breastmilk makes babies smarter. The worst times were when she would fall asleep while nursing. She had a habit of clamping her mouth shut in her sleep, which would cause her teeth to sink into me. Ma... |
 | tonika1980 responded to a discussion called Disciplining my 2 year old son... in being a mom. 4 weeks ago
Having to sit in time out was always an effective way of disciplining my children. They hated it more than anything. I would always have them sit where they could watch everyone else having fun, but not see a television or anything like that. They would have to think about what they did and the consequence of it. All the while seeing their sisters and myself having fun. Now that they are older ... |
 | tonika1980 commented in a discussion called What would be your reaction IF...? in life. 4 weeks ago
I would do the same. I enjoy watching sports with my husband, so it wouldn't be a problem for me. If, by chance, I was not in the mood to watch the game with him, I would find me a good book to read or puzzle to do while he watched it. Dates can be rescheduled, but it's not every day that your favorite team is playing. |
 | tonika1980 received a best response in the discussion If I can reverse back the time.... by rj4pau. 1 month ago If I were able to go back in time, I would not choose a time for just the joy of it. I would want to go back to 2003, when I was 23 and having my only natural born child. Yes, it was a very happy time, and I would relive that moment again and again for the shear joy of holding my sweet baby in my arms for the first time over and over, but my reason for going back would be to chamge a decision I... |
