Hey all, as many of you probably know by now, I'm a DJ for an online radio station (www.hotmix106.com) It's a great station, and i love DJ'ing for them, But probably due to a recent bombardment of allergies i can't seem to think of any new, cool and interesting ideas for tonight's show, be it music, or anything that people might like to hear. So if you have any cool and interesting ideas, please offer them up, I'm up for almost anything, love this job, and don't want to stop, and i really don't want to do anything boring for the people like some of my shows have been, i just got a new mic, i have so much music it would turn heads if people saw my collection and a great sense of humor. I know you all won't let me down, those of you i know will respond, you all always have such wonderful ideas and thoughts, So to all of my usual responders, and friends, and all those out there who will be responding to me on this discussion, i thank you a whole lot for your great thoughts and ideas in advance! (I checked guidelines and i am following all the rules here since i'm not referring anyone to a site where i'll make more money if they come, this is just a great radio station, and i won't make more or less money weather you come or not, so if your going to report me for anything, please do it for a good reason. Thanks.)

Hi can you do a quiz or offer free prizes. Why not have a talk show or talk about something controversial something that is on the news at the moment. You could have a themed night? Or a 60's night music, Country and Western or something like that? Could you ask listeners to ring up? Hope this helps.

those are all wonderful ideas mickie, i really do love them, i was thinking of doing quizes and stuff, i'm working on a blogspot to make that plausable right now, until then though i'm kind of stumped on that. I play a bit of country in my shows but i can't have a whole show on it because it's not in my genre, but the 60's music is also a wonderful idea, and to get listeners to call in i'll have to get a 1800 number, although i'm going to look into that further now that you've mentioned it, for now i can always use my yahoo, get them to message me with requests. Thanks so much hun.

This is kind of tough Spitfire. I know the radio show I listen to in the morning is always the most amusing when they have these goofy questions and take polls on them. Or they do what they call a "mix up mash up" where you have to guess what 5 songs are in their, I don't know if that'd work for you, if you can give prizes or not. Good luck anyway! I'll check it out!

thanks hun, i'm definitely going to do some poles as time goes, i just have to find a pole thing for html so i can get it on my blogspot, so that it'll actually work, because otherwise i don't have the means to do it, it's a great idea. The mix up mash up is a great thought, i'll look into it and see if i can get some music cut down, and maybe some sort of prize or bonus or something. Thanks for sure!

Thanks for the best response! I thought of you the other day when I called in to the local morning show here and had the big debate about "squeeky cheese curds", don't ask, I live close to Wisconsin and it's a big deal around here. LOL

I'm listening (in U.K) right now, but probablly won't here you as you start at 3am in U.K. Why not have theme nights pick a specific artist and have a song from every year (or every 5 years) or those few who have been there forever 1 song from each decade. Add a competition for listeners to name the year the song came out. For those songs which have been sung by many different artists have a competition for the best recording. What about different songs with a common theme? eg colours mentioned in them, or similar places mentioned. The choices for these are endless, as you could mix them over the weeks.
