Doggie doo doo duty?  

Well, that was certainly a great story to top my afternoon. Just as I began thinking about what to make for dinner. Guess I will have to put that off for a while. lol. Just think if someone invented a doggie toilet, they would makes millions. Cats have a litter box, so there must be something that someone can dream up for a dog...lol.

whew...thanks for sharing grandpa Bob! I'm so happy I've already had my dinner! lolol...I used to have a dog and always took him to a dog park where I let him off his leash to go into the "poop" yard to do his thing. He really never did have an accident on the way to or back from that park and I thanked him a million times a day for that!

HUM that reminds me one reason I dont have a doggy, doing doo doo duty is not my cup of tea lol. Really tho I know people who as a job do the doggy walk thing for other people and they have like 6 dogs they are walking at one time lol.

I really appreciate that you DID do the right thing and clean up after your pet. We have a large yard and I have to do the duty several times a week and before I mow the lawn. I wouldn't mind cleaning up after the dog, IF I had one. Someone must know our habits and either in the wee hours of the morning or late at night while we are sleeping, enjoy using our yard as dumping ground. I find it very disrespectful to do that to someone else's property. I am glad to hear someone does the responsible thing and takes responsibility for their pet!

I'm sorry, Bob, but I just have to laugh. Not because of what happened, but because something VERY SIMILAR happened to me! I had just put new grass clippings in the garden and started spreading it around the veggies for a mulch. I had to go inside for a second, and came back to finish my job. Right as I grabbed the fresh clippings, I found somethng else FRESH in the grass. A cat (probably mine) did her business and very neatly disguised it so I wouldn't see it. ARGH! Thank goodness I was at home, so I could run in and clean it up. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever stuck my hands into!

That's quite the graphic description, Grandpa Bob. I can envision it, and can 'almost' smell it too. To me, one of the worst smells in the world, is that of doggie doo doo. Have you ever smelled 'the disgusting aroma,' and wondered why it seemed 'so near,' then you realized it was on the bottom of your shoe? Been there, done that ... groooooooooooosssssssss!!!

I remember the first time i picked it up i felt the same way you did but i was glad i did,i remember a saying i heard it was if a kid falls in it the kid could go blind dont no if it true?

YES I LOATHE cleaning up dog poop and fresh is even worse. I have been in that situation with baggie on hand and feeling the texture thru the bag, and the smell and the heat made me start dry heaving! I couldn't hang with it, and I can't even imagine how it is for someone that has a huge dog like a great dane?! GAG!!!

That is funny! Our dog uses it outside in the yard too and we never take bags when we take her for a walk. She actually only pees when we take her for a walk, I guess we time it just right too.

I live in a townhome, so I have to perform this task at least 5 times a week. The worst is when my yellow lab Xena poops in the winter and I can see the steam rising from the mound on the snow! At least it's easy to locate. But the smell is worse in the cold weather, P.U. I would rather pick up dog poop than clean a cat box any day. I have two cats from my apartment years and ichhhhh. I hate cleaning that d#@!ed box.
