Dog discrimination  

oh wow! I think that is really stupid! lol. And I would hope it isn't true! I had 2 black dogs and they were the sweetest, least agressive animals you ever met! They both recently passed away, but you can see one in my photos.

And we just recnelty adopted another puppy, Maggie, who looks just like the deceased Mocha. And even though she is a STINKER and a bit crazy she isn't mean at all.

That is the biggest myth, if I ever saw one! lol

No I wouldn't. My dog is mainly black as all rottweilers are black with some brown markings. I think that is wrong to discriminate because of color. If they are treated right and trained properly they would make a good dog too...shouldn't matter the color!

My dog is by far agressive, but most people are scared of her because she is a rottweiler. She is a big baby!

That is stupid... very stupid. I think that some people are really getting more bored every day, in America... and what they do? they pay an so called scientist to make a research, and some stupid results like the one above emerge... and after that they call their actions "Marketing Strategies"... that sucks;)

I'd never heard that before! It doesn't really make any sense to me. My last dog was black, and he was the sweetest, most loving animal there ever was. I would have no problem adopting or having a dog that was black, all things considered.

In my opnion clack dogs are no diffrent than brown or tan. A dog is a dog no matter what color fur. I am going to be looking to adopt a dog soon and to be honest iam going to take the one that I like and likes me and is ok with kids and cats. If it happins to be a black dog then great if not then great too.

My neighbor has a small dog and she is black and she is the sweetist little dog and very protective and loving. Iwould love to adopt her but she already has a loving home so I wont.

I find study like this one to be stupid. We currently own two dogs that are white with liver spots. We also own two dogs that are mainly black and brown. None of these animals are aggressive or mean in anyway. To be honest with you I think that the dark colored dogs are actually easier to read. When we adopt a dog we check out their personality by tugging on their tails or ears just like one of the children might.

That's just silly to me. Both of my dogs are black. And they are so sweet. My little one lets my 16 month old son crawl all over her and pick her nose and teeth and everything. She has never tried to bite him. She does bite the cat every once in a while, but the cat always starts it. lol
I think I would be more likely to adopt a black dog. I love the two I have now more than any other dogs I've ever had. The only other dog I've had before that comes close was a rottweiler mix (he was mostly black, too!).

WOW...I have never heard that. I get along well with ALL dogs no matter what their color is, and currently have a large black lab. Having had several different breeds and colors of dogs over the years, the only thing I can say is that the lighter colored dogs tended to pick up fleas and ticks more than the darker colored ones.

Wow! I have never heard this before. When I was growing up we had a balck dog and she was very gentle and wouldn't hurt anyone. I would think it depends on how they are brought up as well.

No, I would not be...in fact, we have a Black Lab...he weights about 100 lbs.....he is very large..but very friendly...he belongs to our five year old son who named him "Little Bit" when he was a puppy....because he was the runt of the litter....he has really grown alot since then...LOL

I have never been aware of this discrimination before....I find it strange...to me the color of the dog is irrelevant to the behavior and characteristics of the dog.....
