Digital Photo Frames - Does Anyone Have One????? Sounds Like a Great Idea  

Where could I get one of those? LOL! I would surely love to have one of those. Mothers like me would certainly load it up with pictures of our kids and family. Well, I just can't help it! and digital photo frames was made probably with people like me in mind.

You wantto know something funny? my mother didn't know these things already existed and the other day she was saying that they would be a great idea. i told her they already exist...and they arecalled digital picture frames. She wants one, now. i might get her one.

Hi urbangirl, yes I have a friend who got one for his father because his dad doesn't have a computer. My friend took a lot of pictures off his computer and put it on the memory card of his camera and in the back of the photo frame is a slot for a memory card and the pictures go into the photo frame. You set the photo frame to preview the pictures like a slide show and you set the speed that each picture changes. It's really cool and it holds a lot of pictures, he put about 250 pictures in for his dad. Here is a link where they sell it... http://www.radioshack.com...

I don't have one of these, but have seen them. I like the idea of this product but I would like to see something bigger that one could put up on wall. I once saw on TV, a newly built apartment and the guy had a 40 inch plasma TV on the wall that did this - a bit of an expensive photo frame though, I thought at the time :-)

No, I dont but it sounds great. That would make a wonderful talking piece and I suppose for the mean time, something a bit unusual.

ive heard of those and often thought they would make a great gift for the grandparents for sure!

they are kind of expensive though. from $60 to around $130 USD at the radio shack link.

lol ill have to save up a bit to get one though!

my boyfriend from florida has bought 2 digital frames with 1 gig each..they are pretty cool and he uplaoded every picture i sent him and watch them slide show..
they are cool..and i would want one for myself too..very eligible to use and you wont be needing more frames to post them all..

I got my motherinlaw one of these about two years ago. It is a neat thing and is as howard described (howard is always so clever.)

I've also seen smaller versions taht are keychains. I am thinking of getting her one of these as well because she is a grandchildren bragger and this would suit her so well to have it with her when she goes out. I think that Brookstone carries these.

Like one of the responses above, i thought up these myself and thought they would be a great way to display all of those digital photos, then realised they already existed.

They are becoming more popular in the UK, but when my friend bought one, I wasn't that impressed. It was a great piece of kit, but i wouldn't want to sit watching a 6x4 screen for ages. Because they use LCD or TFT screens, you can't see them very well from side angles either. I had been really keen to buy one, but to be honest, i think you would be better off putting pictures onto CD or DVD and showing them through the TV.
Perhaps it's just me, but I prefer to view my photos using my laptop anyway. Then i can skip through easily and zoom etc at will. My laptop (with tft screen) always seems to make pictures look crisper and sharper than anything else anyway.

My wife was given one of those keyring things when she returned to work after her maternity. Again, it's pretty cool as a novelty but the picture quality is poor.

I'd love one of the digital photo frames, but they're a bit on the expensive side. About 200 euros. So I'm not going to bother. But the bigger the memory, the more photos you can store. And certain ones have a voice capacity so you can add comments.
