CoffeeAnyone (1699) | 3 years ago | Very good point I should of said what my plans are for my camera. Well nothing really! I have hated cameras all of my entire life. I would run and hide when cameras came out of someone's purse when I was a kid. I am 47 now and all of a sudden I have a new found love for a camera. OH not to take picture's of me that is still not my favorite thing but nature. I realize I love nature and I love to have nice pictures of it! I doubt I will ever be able to sell my pictures or anything like that but I would love to have a great quality digital camera to take lovely pictures with! Thank for your comment!

3. bigpinkmomma (349) | 3 years ago | Goodness. I guess it depends on a variety of factors. What do want the camera for? Are you wanting to take pictures just for email or would like be able to print them out in good quality printouts? How much money do you have to spend. Digitals start at under at $100 but still go all the way to $1000.00 . What is your primary subject? If you are taking a lot of scenery pictures, then you will definitely want to get something with a lot of optical zoom, so you can bring your subject in closer. If had the money I would get the camera with the most mega pixels and optical zoom that I could afford. I am not sure the brand always matters. I would check out the brands to see which one is the most user friendly . I have had HP cameras and now own a Canon. I find the Canon has more features but it is harder for me to use. It depends on your knowledge of this kind of technology I guess . Hope this helps .

CoffeeAnyone (1699) | 3 years ago | Excellent questions! I should of said what I wanted the camera for that would of helped I am sure? I think what I was trying to do was to find the cameras out there that people absolutely love and why and maybe this would help me. I like what you said about the mega pixels and the zoom. Yes I will need those qualities for sure because i would have to say my biggest desire for my camera right now is to take pictures of nature! All my life I have hated cameras but this past year I have found a new love and an appreciation for them and I would like to make up for lost time. I would love to take beautiful pictures of my family to have them framed as well! Plus to frame my own scenery pictures for my home! You have a Cannon? A cannon has been brought to my attention a number of times in the past few weeks. What type of cannon do you have?

4. chase07 (2084) | 3 years ago | Hello coffeeAnyone! I just bought mine two months back. I got Olympus FE/210, thats the cheapest i guess but its just ok. It serves my purpose anyway. They say olympus is good but it depends on the user and the purpose of why you are buying the a camera.
Have fun. Choose the best..

| 5. bigfootspartan (10) | 3 years ago | Hey man,
It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want a simple point and shoot, my advice would be either the Canon A570IS, since it has the image stabilizer, or the digital elph (sd750 i believe) since it has a large lcd screen.
If you want more customizable, a digital SLR might be right for you. The most popular choice here would be the Canon Digital Rebel Xti. Now it is a 10 MP sensor, but I like my Pentax K110D. It is a little cheaper, (two lens kit for the Xti One lens kit) and has good noise reduction at high ISO ratings. It is only a 6 MP sensor, but this also helps in noise reduction, as fewer pixels are jammed into one little sensor.
Good Luck

| 6. Jade27 (50) | 3 years ago | I agree with everyone else. It really depends on how you plan to use your camera. While I am a huge fan of Canon, I hear that the new Nikon is excellent as well. If I were to buy a new camera it would probably be a new Canon rebel since it will work with some of the lenses I already have. I hope you find one that will suite your needs.

8. kimberlyjt (939) | 3 years ago | No one can tell you what camera to buy, you have to decide for yourself. Think of how you will use it; do you need the waterproof and dust resistant features, the price you would pay; how much do you have to spend, ease of use; is it going to take a long time to use or are you going to beable to pick up the instructions quickly, the size; lost of people complain about the heaviness of dslr's and some think some autos are to small. Don't think that the higher the pixels the better the camera, its not true, you still can get great shots with a 3mp camera. The digital camera should have both digital and optial zoom settings. This allows you to choose what to focus the lens on. And the optical automatically focuses on what appears to be the subject.
you can review cameras at: http://www.popphoto.com/testsreviews/ http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews.php http://www.shutterbug.com... can compare prices at: http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/ http://cameras.pricegrabb... can purchase new or used camera: http://www.adorama.com/ http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ http://www.ritzcamera.com/ http://www.butterflyphoto.com/ http://www.abesofmaine.com
Sometimes camera companies allow purchases from them, so if you are set on a certain camera but can not find it in stores check out their website. Also see photography forums, like http://www.mpix.com . Proffessional photographers often update their cameras, or get to busy to use the camera(travel photographers often have unopend cameras). So you can often find good used or brand new cameras for sale in the forums, because they will post the sale in there before a classified ad or ebay.

CoffeeAnyone (1699) | 3 years ago | Will this is really funny. I wrote this discussion a while back. I just came home 10 min ago and came on line to check email and this is the first response I see. Funny how that happens. I bought the Nikon D80 decided at the last minute not to buy the 200 because I am not a pro and never will be so the D80 suits me just fine. I will be back later to check all those sites you mentioned. Thanks for responding.

9. bobmnu (2662) | 3 years ago | If you are looking for a starter camera that will let you grow in photography I would suggest the Canon Powershot series. I have a Canon A530 and like it very much. The problem with it is it is so easy to use that my 5 year old grandaughters are using it more and more so I am looking for another camera. It is a great little camera and I would recommend it to any newcomer.

10. suspenseful (17149) | 3 years ago | My husband bought a Canon Powershot G5. He swears by Canon and unlike the previous one, this in is easy to get parts for. His youngest brother was into photography and he always preferred Canons. There might be a newer model, or one that takes larger prints. Mind you, if I was wealthy, I would buy the best Canon there ever was. But that is because I always had to buy the middle or lower cost value of anything and they never did what was expected.

CoffeeAnyone (1699) | 3 years ago | Hi,,, thanks for commenting.. my camera hunt is over.. Last week we bought a Nikon D80 because we have a couple of weddings we are going to that we wanted nice pictures for and plus a holiday coming up. Then yesterday for my BDay my hubby bought me the DS powershot 900 canon. A small little digital for me to carry in my purse for those quick picture taking moments. You know the ones where you say; Oh I wish I had a camera. I love Canon too from what I have seen of them.. Orginally I was looking to buy the STI Rebal Canon but ended up with the Nikon D80. Oh well I did get one Canon. I have not tested it yet to see the quality of picture but I am expecting greatness. LOL
