Wow...80% of 10 STAR mylotter ,i added ....are WOMEN!  

So, let me see if I read this right.
Did you say you are adding only people with a 10 star rating to your friend list?
That is kind of unfair.
I don't have a 10 star rating, and it is not because I don't give good advice, because I have gotten many best responses.
I seem to think it is because sometimes I disagree with others, so they rate me bad.
Or maybe because I smoke pot and talk about it.
Or maybe because I am an alcoholic and talk about it.

Many people will rate others badly unfairly becuase of disagreements or different ways of life.

I think you should first read what is being said by others instead of just seeing if they have a high rated star, because a star means nothing.
I pay no attention to a measly star.
I have gotten some of the best advice from lower rated people.

This is just my opinion though.

I would love to see the demographics of myLot to see who is posting here.
There are a lot of women in their 20s to 50s here, a lot of them are either home raising kids or running a home, and this is a chance to meet other people and to be able to respond to topics in an intelligent way. I am not going to say that all the women that age fit in this category. Some people see a woman, especially a mother or wife who is left at home, and forget that there is an intelligent person there. Someone with opinions and with the knowledge to make a difference. They are in a positions, either by choice or by cultural reason, that they do this.
I have many female friends, and many have high ratings. Because I am male and have some different views on things, I also have many male friends, and some even have ratings as low as a 3 or 4. To me the ratings are both for the quality of the post and the content. myLot says not to rate because you agree or disagree but on whether the content is good. I tend to think if someone writes a post that brings me to read it, even if I don't post to it, they are worth giving a +. The only times I give a - is if they either attack in an evil way or they try to take a subject away from what the topic is and to totally subvert it.

I'm going to say that most are women because I'm pretty sure there are more women on mylot than men. A lot of women do the 'stay at home mom' thing more often than guys and i know i've come across quite a few who use mylot as one of the many ways to make a little cash while staying at home being the house wife and mom...since that's an unfortunate unpaying job.

Besides, I think in general this is just a place that has more women than men... and that would be why more 10 stars are women.

Since the death of my mother 4 weeks ago, I am so sorry that I have been unable to answer many of my fiends discussions, but I know that you are very proud of your 10 star ratings...that means that the other myLottians believe that you write quality posts and discussions...congratulations.

I donot make a big deal about the ranking I donot really think it indicates as much as one would like to think If i knew how the rating was attained i might change my mind but I am not sure and i have been here a long long time.Think of this when you see a topic that you think is great another member may think its crap Your garbage may be my treasure is something to consider Good Luck my friend if you are happy that is all that matters

I am a 40+ and have a 10 star and it is good to know that my fellow sisters ages 30+ and 40+ are getting 10 star ratings. Thank you for sharing this information, that is great!

Well I dont find that's much of a surprise because probably 80% of the people on Mylot are also woman. I think that explains it pretty much dont you?

I never realised that most people who had a 10 star fell into that category - pretty amazing - maybe we have just experienced a little bit of life and learnt how to use diplomacy, understanding and love - oh yes and how to meet wonderful friends! xxx

I was a 10 star I'm not sure what happed I will be 35 next month on the 15th snd I'm a woman. My star seems to go back and froth from 9 to 10.

You can see that most of the Mylot members are House wives, who stay at home taking care of the home and the children. Most of them are here to spend time and earn some extra money.

With that, there is no wonder that many of them you pointed out are Women, that too of age between 30 to 40.
