Does your husband know how to vacuum?

Most times I don't bother to ask my husband to clean up the house. Like most guys he has no clue when something needs to be cleaned. Not that he doesn't know how to clean, he just doesn't recognize clutter as a pressing need to get off the couch and clean. Nowadays, the only time my spouse volunteers to vacuum the house is when he buys me a new vacuum and wants to try it out. Other than that, he pretends he doesn't know how to use one. So yes, my husband can vacuum, but he chooses not to do so. That's alright, even if he did vacuum, I'd probably have to redo the job after he left the room anyway. So, does your spouse know how to vacuum? Does he voluntarily offer to vacuum the carpet or floor without being asked?

YES—he does- he cleans a lot as do I. I also help with outdoor work- wood cutting, stacking, lawn work… etc. I think all work should be shared- except laundry- I’m not keen on him doing laundry- he seems to mess it up ! At times I will say to him—honey did you forget where the vacuum is? Lol… especially when he comes in all dirty and makes a mess after I’ve just cleaned!

Yes my husband knows how to vacuum. We hired a rugdoctor machine today and he took the day off to help me clean and shampoo the lounge and dining room carpets before our new furniture arrived this afternoon. That has been the only time he has ever vacuumed LOL he does not volunteer nor does much domestic work around the house, which is ok by me. I have accepted that he is just not domesticated, but he is a great cook though.

My husband when we first started living together just said that he didn't know what to do or how to tell what needed to be done. So he does things like laundry and cooking - it's easy to see when laundry needs to be done and well, cooking is also pretty obvious. It's his home too, he can't just say he doesn't know and use that as a reason not to contribute. He likes to dust, for some unknown reason, maybe because it's easy. And he will vacuum if I ask him to, but he'll leave the vacuum out afterwards, I don't know why.

Me and my bf that I was living with have broken up recently, however he was incharge of the vaccuming. I just HATE it and he hates to take care of the dishes so we had an agreement there =) Vaccuming is just the worst thing about cleaning, i much rather scrub the toilet *lol*

My hubby can vacuume and has done so on a couple occassions. But he would rather cook and do other chores..Which is all fine because I dont ask him to do anything.

My husband vacuums. And it's a good thing, because that is one chore I won't do! lol The only other chore that I refuse to do is ironing, but luckily, the only things we regularly iron are my husband's work uniforms, and he does that himself. As for the vacuuming, he does it about 4 times a week most weeks. I will have to start doing it when he deploys, but I don't know if I will get it done that often. I just hate it carrying the vacuum up and down the stairs, and it wakes my son up, so I prefer to have my husband do it when we're busy doing something else. I'm not sure how it will work when he deploys.

in that respect my hubbs is the best! he's great at vacuuming and mopping. and he's really sweet in that he will wake up early sometimes and do the whole house, vacuuming first and then followed up by mopping so the floor feels really great. the last time, we also shared the tasks. for instance he will vacuum and i will mop of vice versa. sometimes i will just iron his shirts and he will do all for the floor. and the standard of his housework is good!

My Mom always told me that husbands need training!! I have found it be true!! My hubby will clean, which for a Japanese man is very strange. But I have to tell him what to do, put the dirt cups in the sink, move the towel you used, etc. He is getting better but takes time.

Hi beautyqueen26! Haha...your hubby and mine are of the same breed! LOL! My hubby only used the vacuum when it was newly bought so he can try it out if nothing is amiss...after that he never laid a hand on it again. But that is alright because he works very hard anyway and he massage me whenever I am tired from my household chores.LOL! Have a nice day and take care!
