|  While watching tv this morning I saw a story on the rise in popularity of K.T. Tunstall, a singer from Scotland. Of course I had heard the name before since I listen to quite a bit of music. I had never taken the time, however to listen to anything of hers. I really liked her sound, but I liked even more the story of her success. It seems that she was considered "too old" at the age of 29 when she tried to get a recording contract. She has a lot of heart and a beautiful voice. The fact that she was adopted has not seemed to affect her adversely. I really like a success story like hers.

| |  She's definitely talented, both as a musician and as a songwriter. What's brilliant is that she sounds just as good live as she does in recorded takes. She's got a strong voice and she doesn't sing weak songs either. The first song I heard was "Black Horse and The Cherry Tree". I liked her so well that I featured her on a music blog I wrote at the time, it actually gave me a lot more respect for her as I did the research on her life and the development of her music.

| |  I love her music. He cd has been in my player for most of the weekend. I have enjoyed listening to it and learning the songs. She really has a great voice.

| |  Her story is a great one and the fact that Katherine McPhee sang Black Horse and the Cherry Tree on American Idol is what propelled her (Tunstall) to the fame she has now... and with the follow-up hit Suddenly I See... she is well on her way to becoming another song-writing superstar... ala Jewel.

| |  i think she's been a bit 'over-done' in the UK. From what I've seen she seems to be more popular with middle-aged people rather than the younger generation. I think she has talent and I wouldn't kick her out of bed for farting, but I won't be rushing out to buy her album.

| |  I remember seeing her on the Regis and Kelly show right before she became very popular in the music scene. They described her as a one woman band. She played all the instruments with her hands and feet and sang also, the song she is most noted for, Horse and the Cherry Tree. I love her style of music and wish her well and hope her career takes off and she is here for a long long time.

| |  KT has one of the most powerful voices around, but its sad to say that she has not acheived the popularity here in Australia that she deserves. As of late though her popularity has begun to rise (thanks largely to the television show "Ugly Betty" using "Suddenly I See" in there commercials, and thanks to the movie "The Devil Wears Prada"). Its well overdue!
Her voice is strong and stays with you for a long time. I agree with you about her story though. Its amazing to see that someone from a slightly "different" upbringing and outside the ideal image for a record company making a go for it.
Really looking forward to her new album to come out down here!
