How can people be so cruel???

Wow...Yes, people in this lifetime are very cruel. I can't believe the way that you were treated about the abortion status. It sounds extremely harsh, and what people need to realize is that everyone has different opinions. I am highly agaisnt abortion. But, in my standings, I wouldn't get one for myself, but I have nothing against those people who do such a thing. And People should respect everyone's wishes and opinions, that's why opinions are made. At the first sign of an attack from this person I would have reported. You definetly did the right thing. And for those people who don't quite understand why it's right, that person would attack probably everyone who disagreed with them.

I've noticed that alot on here. People will ask a question and then it starts a big debate. then people just get down right mean. I had asked about leaving the kids in the car for a 5 min or less with the car in full view...I had one woman tell me I wasn't fit to watch kids. I was upset that she questioned me being a good mother. its not like i was forgetting my kids were in the car in the hot sun. I had elimated every possible threat and was just going to be running my daughter in the building to her class. you'd have to read the whole discussion. anyways...some people nicely told me they didn't think it was a good idea, while some were kind of mean towards me. I'm glad you reported that woman.

It is an annoying thing when people attack each other on here over differences in opinion. Mylot is a discussion forum for sharing our interests and thoughts people shouldn't get rude or attack each other over differences in opinion.
Abortion is a controversial subject and there are many different opinions on it and it stirs up all kinds of emotions, best to just avoid discussions on such a hot issue. It's sad I have to say that but there's nothing mylot can do to make everyone agree about abortion is there?

Well Lily that's the way people are.. They sometimes think they are better than others and will be very immature about such things.. I know when I start a discussion rather it's good or bad, I do respect everyones oppions but I won't swear at someone to make myself feel better.. That won't happen.. I think when it comes to that point it's best to leave things alone and not act on them.. I've done that... People would say rude things and it upsets me. I just sometimes act like I've never read it before.. That's really all you can do so their isn't a conflict between the two talking on the subject, How ever you did do the right thing on reporting her because there is no excuse for swearing and attacking people for their oppions...

Well that happens alot in those controversial topics.
People feel strongly about their view on the topic and tempers flare and sometimes unsuspecting innocent opinion holders get caught in the crossfire between other users that are simply trying to continue with a discussion that they feel too strongly about to let go

I don't think it was wrong to report her. I guarantee other people did. A lot of people on here don't like seeing others get attacked for no good reason. It's too bad you had to experience that.

No, thats not wrong of you...i had posted something about abortion and people were so judgemental on their views...like telling people they needa grow and backbone and stuff...its crazy how some people get on here this isnt a place to curse and carry on like that with people you dont even know...People act like they are gonna get into a fight or something over something said on the computer...

Was it wrong to report? No. If you felt attacked, then you need to report it. That's why users have the ability to report abuse. That said, when you respond to a discussion that is on such a senstitive issue, you have to expect a certain amount of that. I'm not saying that you should expect to be attacked, but you have to expect strong opinions and have a thick skin, because there will always be someone who disagrees.

I like to think that myLot can be a friendly enjoyable

It definitely wasn't wrong to report someone who was cursing at you. Disagreement's fine, cussing and abuse isn't. Also it may be someone who comes here specifically to cause trouble -- a troll -- and they may want to get their IP blocked.
