What things did you buy for your babies that was a waste of money?  

I bought a bottle warmer that you could put the bottle in it and it was suppose to warm up the bottle to the right temperature ha! That thing never did work.
I loved my boppy pillow but I did not use it for feeding I used it to stregthen my daughters back to help her learn to sit up on her own I would sit her in the middle of it and she had supposrt on three sides worked great.

well, i agree to your view. we know it is a waste . but you know due to curiosity and love and affection of our baby , we some times buy so many things ., which we could have avoided . but on later date we find the same as waste., . you cannot avoid the same ., because those things are bought by us with pure love and not just like that . we cannot count those expenses

I bought a pillow which had hearts attached to it with i love you written on them. By looks it was just beautiful but when it came to its use it did not offer the comfort the child needs but still felt happy with it when my daugher would specially keep it on her bed as a show piece.That smile on her face when she saw the pillow actually paid its price even without its utility.

The boppy was a lifesaver for me, I loved it. I also like baby towels because they are smaller and softer than regular bath towels, so for at least the first year, they were good. One or two is all you need, though.

For me, one of the things I bought that I didn't need was baby dishes. I got spoons, bowls, snack bowls, and some other things. I found that ziploc bags are better for snacks, especially on the go, and all you really need is a few spoons. The rest of the dishes, well you can just use a desert bowl for cereal, and the caps for bottles make great cups.

The other thing was the swing. My son never enjoyed it until he was almost too big for it, so he only used it for a couple of weeks. The problem is, you never know whether they are going to like it until you try it.

I think the only thing I have gotten so far that was a waste was too much clothing. My son is now 9 months old and I already have two huge bins of clothes that no longer fit. Some things he has never even worn. Everything else I have bought has been worth it.

I am really very careful most times because i know buying for babies is one potential area where nothing is too much and also has a lot of scope of wasting money. Till date I have wasted money on 2 things. A potty seat, which my daughter didn't use even once and an expensive baby lotion which is no good. She has many toys and doesn't play with them all the time but I wouldn't call it a waste of money.

It probably was toys. Anytime we go out and see a cute little stuffed animal or toy that was reasonably priced, we would pick it up. My husband still has that problem, I believe I have curbed it..:)

I bought a lot of things that were a waste. Probably the major one was the Diaper Genie. I haven't seen them around lately but I had one and could not figure out for the life of me how that thing worked. The other was a wipe warmer. first of all, it took a long time to warm up, but if you left it on the wipes would dry out and burn.

The worst thing i bought for our daughter was a bassinette, it looked so pretty in the shop and what i dreamed of my baby being put down to sleep in, but she hated it, so it went into storage until our son was born, once again he didnt like it, he prefered to sleep in his pram, and our bed. So before our third child was born we gave away the idea of using a bassinette and relied on his pram and cot for sleepping.

We had twins and it would only take about 3 diaper changes before we had to stop and empty the stupid genie
We finally just took the whole genie and threw it and the dirty diapers in the trash
