Is It Really So Weird? Sparing/Liking An Insect...  

To each his own right, we all have our own likes and dislikes so for me it's not weird at all. It's just like liking or loving a pet. As long as these creatures don't harm (arachnids can be quite harmful you know), it's just fine with me.

Well, talking to spiders does have an advantage. They won't twist or distort what you say.

well my friend,i dont see anything wrong with that,heck some people have insects for pets and we all talk to our pets so to me theres no difference what type of pet it is.some of the insects are actually really cool and neat.we all talk to ourselves so why cant we talk to insects,then we have some type of excuse lol.pattie

There is nothing strange about it. God created everything on the earth and basically, all life is precious. I get a pang of guilt when I have to kill a spider, ant, etc. But I don't like being bit by them and it all comes down to survival of the fittest; it's them or me and I choose me.

No I dont think its weird, perhaps its weird for those of us to kill them, like me. I dont hurt moths though, I will try to free them, but things like spiders and flies, they are as good as dead!

Ive talked to insects, especially moths, butterflies, pesky flying insects, (I tell them to go away!). But they have some really pretty ones in the world, lol and I tell them how pretty they are! I mean I dont try to lay my rants out on them or cry to them my sorrows...lol Your not doing that are you? I might suggest therapy if you are. ; )

I hope it's not weird because I have a daughter who still does that all the time. Actually it was a way her younger brother used to torture her when they were still kids. I caught him drowning ants on the sidewalk with a spray bottle of water while his sister screamed bloody murder. I guess he had to do something to his know it all sister, lol. Anyway, at age 37 she still carries all the bugs outside. I think it's sweet.

I don't find it weird at all. I do the exact same thing, to every living being, except mosquitoes for some reason. I see them biting me and I hit them. And ticks, they freak me out. I hate to single those out but, they do suck blood. I find it very sweet for someone to be like that. It shows they aren't insensitive superior jerks. :) You are very sweet for sparing their lives. I often play with a praying mantis when I see one, they are cute.

I think its perfectly fine. I do it too. Except to cockroaches because they are yucky and move fast. Bleh. If its an ant I will step around it. It its a bug in my house I will either leave it alone or take it outside if I have time. When I used to help my boyfriend walk his dog I would pick up all the snails off the sidewalk and put them on the grass so they wouldnt be stepped on.

It sort of depends on what the insect is. Spiders can be poisonous, and it's hard to tell which ones are or aren't, so if I see them, they generally bite the dust. Stinging insects like wasps have also gotten into my apartment. They too were doomed, since I want neither myself or my pets to be stung. Moths and crickets fair well with me. I try to spare their little lives, because I know they bear me no ill will. And I believe the old Chinese saying that it's bad luck to kill a cricket.
