Could You Spend 15 Hours A Day Watching Television |
|
Please please tell me there must be other people out there, somewhere, in this big wide world that actually sits and watches 15 yes this is NOT a typo 15 hours, that's fifteen hours of television in a day? What is your first thought after reading that, shock? a shrug? Speechless? Stunned? Well believe me, I can't work it out either, because that is exactly what my father does! From the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed he is stuck in front of the goggle box! The only time he moves is to go to to the toilet, I joked that we should get him a commode for Christmas then he wouldn't have to miss anything!Take this morning he got up at 8.30 the first thing he did was to, yes you've guessed it turned the television on and it'll be on constant until 11.30 tonight, so that is 15 straight hours of doing nothing else but watching tv Is it any wonder why his wife has given up on him? What a waste, so does anyone else you know or live with watch this amount of television in a day?I wouldn't mind but most of it is what I call junk and I think he's one big giant couch potato!

2. positiveminded1977 (2861) | 10 months ago | Gosh, that's amazing! Do you live with your Dad? What does he do for a living? Watching that much TV is so bad for the eyes too, to say nothing about the other dangers. Well, anyway, TV is not for me. I can hardly stand one hour of it. About ninety percent of it is commercials anyway. Your idea of getting a commode is hilarious!! Wish you a merry X'mas!!

wolfie34 (11444) | 10 months ago | Yes I do live with him and he's retired. I can only stomach an hour of it then I get restless, I could quite easily live without the tv! I will watch movies but like you can't stand commercials.

3. sohelkm (842) | 10 months ago | No I cannot spend 15 hours watching TV. It is maximum 6 to 8 hours in a day that I can watch TV. I have known such couch potatoes and those are mostly people who have retired and thus spend most of their time in front of the tv. I also know of a couple of depressed souls who do this kinda think.

5. Transdisc (14791) | 10 months ago | Hello wolfie Fifteen hours of television is quite a lot of television. I don't think I could do it, at least not on a regular basis. I may have had a couple of days in my life where I watched television all day, but even then, not for fifteen hours. I remember once I watched 'The Planet of the Apes' all day, but I was sick. Anotheer time I watched movies all day because there was a blizzard outside and I couldn't go out. Again, I don't think it was for fifteen hours.

wolfie34 (11444) | 10 months ago | Well dad does, day in day out, that would drive me cuckoo! I think the average I watch tv for in one day is two and that's at a push! I can take it or leave it to be honest. Planet of the Apes was that with Charlton Heston?

Transdisc (14791) | 10 months ago | I don't watch television either, except for about a half hour a day when I watch the news, if that. I used to watch it for an hour at night, but I don't anymore. I'd rather listen to music. There was a movie, Planet of the Apes, with Charleton Heston, but the Planet of teh Apes maratho I watched was the television series that was on in the 1970's. One Saturday when I was sick, I they showed all of these shows in a series and i watched them all. (I can't remember if Heston was in them, wolfie.)

oneandonemakesix (24154) | 9 months ago | Trans, Its one thing to watch tv when you aren't feeling well, but its another thing to do day after day after day. I can't find much on tv that I really like to watch outside of cooking shows, TLC, History, discovery, and maybe the occasional movie. Most of the time when I watch movies, I do so to fall asleep. As watching a movie, especially one I like, relaxes me enough to fall asleep. Mooch
