so its new years day.. everyones waking up to find their keys and cigarettes.. checking to see if they have any money left for coffee or breakfast/lunch.. my question how ever is.. did you wake up to the person you wanted to wake up next to? the person you should have woke up next to? did you wake up all by your lonesome? was there someones arm flung over you along with somebody elses leg?

What I want to know is, did YOU wake up to the right person or persons? Whose leg was flung over yours? Please do tell!

I woke up alone in the bed at my Uncle's Bed and Breakfast in Ohio. I had champagne (the cheap stuff) but no hangover. I would have loved to wake up next to my boyfriend but he's across the country and that won't happen until March.

Interesting story actually. We were in 7th grade together. We were friends then and had a crush on each other but he didn't tell me til the last day of school... and he was moving back to Arizona in the summer. We stayed in touch... 30 pages letters, emails, phone calls, etc. We have always loved each other but it just wasn't the right time or place to be more than friends. I ended a 7 year relationship last year and he ended a relationship too, so it's finally the right time. I'm moving out there this summer after I get my degree, but in the mean time it's hell. Waking up in a B&B is great if you are you know, traveling and visiting one. Well, I guess I was traveling a visiting one... but it's my uncle's and I don't get all the luxeries most people get. I have to make my own bed, clean up after myself, and completely clean the room and bathrooms when I leave for the next guests. Not that I mind cleaning up after myself... but it's more like staying at a normal house owned by a relative... so not really as big of a deal. That and it was 12 degrees and we had 21 inches of snow. And I got the flu. I'll quit whining now.

hah ya i guess when the family owns it they treat you like family instead of friend.. and i suppose you have to do a better clean up there than your own place since it has to be prim and proper for the next people.. thats awesome though about you and buddy in AZ.. smart choice to finish school first too :) you wont have to worry about any snow or freezing tempatures out there either eh? only problem there is if your a/c or central air breaks! haha :D

Did I wake up next to the person that I wanted to wake up to? ha ha ha Nope! But that happens all the time and not just when there was a global party night the night before. And just so happen...I was not partying last night. I didn't drink or anything else for that matter that would have me waking up to the person other than whom I wake beside every other day of the year. Hey wait...I just thought of this...maybe that is my problem! Maybe I DO need to party every night and one morning I might wake to the man of my dreams! Do you see the flaw of that sentence? The man of my "dreams"...hence, even if I party every night that will not happen because he only exists in my dreams...he is not real. ha ha

dreams can definately come true.. theres plenty of people on the planet who claim their dreams are precognitions etc.. its just usually not the good ones that come true.. :(

As I've made it a lifelong habit not to lie down with dogs, I never wake up with fleas.

When I did it, I picked up the wrong person. I'm a romantic too, but not an idealist or reckless to believe I can wake up by the right person. It happens only in movies and novels.

i dont think it only happens in movies.. thats for happy endings.. love is possible to find its just something you have to work at.. its not as perfect as people like to dream it is

No, thanks. I don't want to waste my time and energy for somebody I never knew before and find out over and ober again this is NOT love. True love is only in the movies and I will never change my mind about it. Period.

i guess we wont have to worry about you ever finding it then huh.. true love as displayed in movies is impossible i agree but love is something humans can and do achieve.. perhaps when you have a kid you will find out what i mean

I woke up alone (well, the cat was there I suppose), I don't have anyone in mind that I want to wake up next to at the moment. I would rather wake up alone than wake up next to the wrong person or, even worse, wake up next to an unknown person! I only had a couple of drinks on New Years Eve so I didn't even have a hangover so New Years Day was a good day for me.

I have a hard time comprehending why anyone would want to celebrate the beginning of a new year while the old one is still in the middle of dying. For me it's not the beginning of a new year till buds start opening. And I wouldn't care whose leg was tossed over mine in the morning, it would still get flung aside so I could get out of doors and watch it all happening.

I love dogs. But I didn't wake up next to them, either I adopted one or came over and petted them, without worring that he/she might bite me.

I did not experience being physically that close to the person that might be the right one forme. I had to know them before knowing that the person is right for me, or was only attracted by me and wanted to make his way into my life. I was disappointed many times, I will never take someone for granted until I know him/her.
