Reading a dog's mind!

I work with a gal who shows dogs in many very prestigious shows. This last weekend she took two of her's to a show in the twin cities. While at the show she had the older dog's mind read. Now I didn't know that this was something you could do....even though many times I wondered what my dog was thinking! Did you know you can have your dog's mind read and would you ever do it? I didn't ask how much it cost. I thought it was a little over the top for me!

Very interesting, hmmmmmm. Did you ever see the movie "The Horse Whisperer"?..I would think its something along those lines, and I just love that movie. I've heard of people that do this, but of course I would be skeptical...but still fascinated.

I think in some ways it would be fasinating......but on the other hand....when you love your pet don't you almost know what they are thinking?

HaHa, I think I know what Kashmere's saying to me most of the time, or when she wants to just snuggle up and get some hugs and kisses, but, cats are one animal that can be in much pain and hide it very well from you. That's where it would be pretty interesting if someone could tell you that they are in pain and let you know what is wrong and what hurts. I remember watching some TV program about a woman from England who could read animal minds....I'm not sure if it was true or not, but it sure was interesting to watch. People would just bring in their pets (the audience was full of birds, cats, dogs, hamsters, lizards, haha) and she supposedly would tell you what they were thinking. I wonder if the animals read her mind and thought she was nuts, hahaha!

I'd probably have my dog's mind read if I had the opportunity. Would have to be someone who knew their "schtick" and not someone who was in it for the money. I'd like to know if the dog is happy here, why he's not real fond of the cat, why he always wants my husband's undivided attention when he is home and why he leaves nervous souvenirs in the vet's office when he goes for a checkup..lol We have a little, black Mini-Dauschaund who is so sweet. He's the best pet we've ever owned. He's so low to the ground he drags his tummy on the steps therefore it's bald. Would also like to know if that hurts him. Might need to install a little step elevator for him. This dog is always so content so am thinking it's the breed. He's definitely worth spending whatever it would cost just to know how he really feels about life in general and if he's happy.

hi jill! is that right? isn't that a hoax? i mean, no one can really vouch for it right? the dog can't say, "yeah, that's right, that's what i am thinking." i dunno, but like you, i think it is also a little over the top for me. and i surely wouldn't want to spend for that. unless otherwise, the reader will just do it for free and i can watch in either amazement or unbelief. lol God bless you jill! :-)

She paid for it.....and I am not sure what the results was...she is the oldest of their three show dogs and actually the mother of the other two..I don't know if she is nervous or why they had it done....crazy!

I think that is pretty silly. I already know what my dogs are thinking: feed me, pet me, let me out!

so what did the reader say about what she had read in the dog's mind?? i'm skeptic over this. i mean, we can tell when a dog is angry or hungry or wants some attention or wants to pee, but to exactly tell what a dog is thinking by reading its mind? i just don't think its possible. i mean, surely dogs have their own language. and what they are thinking they cannot put into abc's since they don't know our alphabet. so how would a mind reader understand what a dog is thinking?? a human and a dog has different wavelengths. i just don't think its possible. ^__^ and if i have a dog, i wouldn't spent any amount just to have my dog's mind read. its ridiculous! i would rather understand my dog through his behavior and actions. ^__^

Ithought it was pretty much off the wall myself! When I had my dog...I could almost know what he wanted by his behavior like you said!

Wow, I would have loved to know what my dog was thinking. I'm not sure I would believe everything they told me but it'd be neat anyhow.
