Members with 0 resopnses on the list for 3 days....will they see their problem?  

Of course not, and those with referral links in the no response discussion, I just hit report and be on my merry way, it doesn't even do any good to reply to it, since it will get deleted.

but some of the one liners, if you look most of the time they are new and they are from a country that is not the US, so I take those as a personal challenge to respond to.

I might occasionally get a 0 response, but it might be asking a question that no one has an interest in or they might not know anything about the subject matter. That doesn't bother me, since it is only once in a blue moon. But I understand what you are saying. I won't bother with a one liner usually, and if they are just doing referrals then I skip them too.

I don't think they really care because they don't know how to make the site work for them. I am getting where I don't respond to folks that don't host their discussions and come back with a response. They don't realize that is where the money is. You don't get points for the chit chat, but you do get paid for it. I have made over $1 just by hosting my own discussions on certain days without ever responding to others, so I know it works.

The way I feel if they are only posting a discussion just to have something on the board and don't care enough to host it I am not going to respond. I think others are learning that too... so if they get zero responses it is their own fault.

Although I did read the guidelines and the FAQs I also asked the other users because it can only be best explained by the people that use it

Often when I log on, there are people for whom English is their second language. The mixed up stuff they write confuses most of us. I try to sort it out, reword it, and ask if this is what they mean. They respond with clarification and then sometimes others follow. French is my second language and I'm sure I'm no better in that. So I do try to help them.

Sometimes there are cultural problems to overcome too, like they ask about something I've never hear of.

I've started one-liners that have gotten me better results than ones where I explained because people were put off by the explanation or it just confused them. But I do try not to have a one-liner. Take care

oh i know i have seen these, i even accepted a couple as my friends but i just cannot answer their discussions because i don't know how to answer..It looks like they just say anything to get a discussion started..I have been thinking that if things don't change i will have to turn them off.it fills up my e-mail with stuff that you cannot answer too..i know what you are talking about ,i mean i hate to be this way but what can you do? I mean how can you reply to some of those discussions? its really not what i would call a discussion....

You know the old saying "When all else fails THEN read the instructions". It isn't just the language barrier at work here. There is a very nice American that has been posting for the last month that still hasn't gotten it. His posts are often very interesting and he is now getting lots of responses, but he has asked a couple of questions and gotten the right answers and he is either ignoring them or he just doesn't get it.

As much as it pains me to admit it, ctry, lately I have seen a slow-down in responses to some of my discussions. I have started(what I considered), thought-provoking, intelligent discussions on a couple of topics, but I end up receiving only 2 or 3 responses. It is causing me to wonder if I'm just spinning my wheels here on myLot lately. I often browse the discussions with no responses, and can usually find at least a couple that are worthy of a response.

I understand what you are saying here. When I first started I got some no responses but after a while most of my topics have received at lest one or more answers. I try to respond to as many as I can but I have a lot of friends on mylot so it makes it very time consuming to get back to everyone but I do what I can. To avoid no responses requires a good list of friends so add more friends if the ones you have are too busy to respond. Good discussions are important too.

I wish I had an answer to that last one hon. But I haven't figured it out yet either. I think that when people sign up, there should be a page with EXTRA BIG LETTERS telling them to read the FAQs first before continuing. Of course, I'm sure that wouldn't put a lid on the whole situation either. LOL! Just thinking about it is addling my brain at the moment!
