Did you know the first television series to show a toilet was "Leave it to Beaver" in 1952? This use to be my favorite show back in the '50's. Such a perfect family who were so interesting. I use to have a crush on Wally but so did most of the girls my age. Did you like the program and watch it regularly?

I remember watching the reruns of Leave it to Beaver as I wasn't born until 1976. I did think it was a good show. That is an interesting fact about the first show to show a toliet.

I remember that show it was one of my favourite shows too, eddy Hasket, what a legend, and I thought The beaver was rather cute too, it was a good wholesome family show, they don't make shows like that anymore.

I've seen some episodes but it may have been some rerun shows. I know what you mean about the toilet. I wish that was all we had to worry about seeing on tv these days. There is alot of vulagarity and filth now. I don't like to watch much television anymore because of it, but every now and then I get to see Mamas Family and Andy Griffith show and Alice at Mel's Diner. I really like those.

I did not know that! What crazy trivia! I used to love that show! I know it was a bit before my time, but my brother and I used to watch that every day along with the Beverly Hillbillies and some other shows. We didn't have cable and they ended up being some of our favorite shows!

I remember watching this show too. The family was so perfect that it was truly intriguing - my family seemed a total mess in comparison. Wally was okay - I think I had crushes from other shows on at the time but for the life of me can't think of one... Although I have to admit since I always went for the bad boys when I got to my teens, Eddy was probably the most interesting. I may be in the minority and sticking my neck out here, but here goes...I COULD NOT stand the Beaver, made me gag, was too sickening cute/precocious for words, -- just my (humble)opinion haha... I should do a search to see what these guys on the show are up to now. Thanks for the memory!...Whit

I loved that show. LOL we are showing our age. I also had a crush on Wally. He was so cute. I went to Universal Studio in Ca. They showed us where they taped that show. Also the Munsters. Remember them? 1313 Monkingbird Lane. Loved all those old shows.

I used to watch Leave it to Beaver but it wasn't one of my faves. I preferred I Love Lucy, Brady Bunch, Different Strokes, Partridge Family.

I used to love that show when I was younger too. Of course I used to watch it in re-runs because I was born in 1978! I still like to watch some of the old shows. My favorite was Patty Duke though, with the "twin" cousins.

I remember reading about that on the "snopes" web site. The episode was about how Wally got a small pet alligator, but he didn't want to keep it in the bathtub where his parents would notice it, so he kept it in the toilet tank. The censors made sure the cameras filmed only the tank and not the toilet bowl itself.
I remember being able to receive channel 2 from Denver (about 60 miles away) in the years before we got cable. There wasn't an independent station where I lived, so in addition to "Leave It To Beaver," channel 2 gave me my first look at other classic shows like "The Addams Family" and "McHale's Navy."

I remember Leave it to Beaver. Lol Not from back in 1952 though. when we were little we used to watch it as a family. I remember liking it a lot. I thought that was what life was like for my dad growing up. I too had a crush on Wally. He was so handsome... Especially when you're 6 years old.
My all time favorite show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I own all 7 seasons of it on DVD.

My Dad still tells me the story of when he got his first colour tv. He grew up in the late 60's/ early 70's. They only had two channels for the longest time. NEws and cbc I believe. I think it was 1965 when his family got their first colour tv. He grew up in the north of bc in small towns.
now that you mention it I wanna see leave it to beaver again.. just for old times sake.

I wasn't born when the show was on, but I have watched the re runs on t.v and loved it. I love watching older shows, I find them at times better then shows today.
