What would you like to know about myLot?

myLot was started as a side project by one of our developers. We wanted to see if there was a better way to bring people together on the internet. It turns out, there was, and myLot exploded in popularity! And yes, I feel confident that myLot will be the way of the future. Expect myLot to continually improve, grow, and evolve.

Thanks for mentioning this, Grandpa Bob. As of my posting this, I'm still experiencing the blank pages etc., and am feeling 'really discouraged,' about this.

Hey Grandpa Bob!

We usually try to fix glitches as we become aware of them. Some glitches are very tough to reproduce though so we can fix. I'm not denying that they're out there, but a lot of times a glitch for certain people isn't a glitch for many others. I'd a private message to uername myLot with specific details of the glitches you're seeing. Not just "I get a white screen". But exactly what are you trying to do when the glitch occurs.

Imagine if everybody's birthday on myLot was celebrated with a long celebratory discussion! That would also open the flood-gates for other chatty discussions.

I understand how great friendships have evolved on myLot. That's what makes it such a great place! But the proper spot for a public "Happy Birthday!" is that user's profile page.

This is a great question and one I have been wondering too.This is a feature that surely is missing here and would help avoid a lot of problems.I hope you get best response for this question, as it is well deserved:)

Yes I agree and also think this should get best responce for interest and honesty.

If a user is that bad, then they don't belong on myLot. Blocking users would ruin the integrity of the discussions. We'd see questions all over the place like "what are you referring to? I don't understand?" That's because a response referencing what a blocked user wrote wouldn't make sense to someone who had that user blocked.

Discussion integrity is critical and something we will never compromise.

I am sorry Crash but what about the overall integrity of this site
many of us can tell when a formerly banned user comes back to start trouble.
We report them to admin but often nothing is done about them and they continue to cause problems and falsely report good users based on some childish vendetta and get those good users banned for nothing.
We should have a way to block those problem users until admin can properly deal with them
We should not have to be subjected to the harrassment of these formerly banned users

If I block single user, the user can not respond to my discussion only, or under my respond only, still can respond to 100,000 of other users....

We want to have fun, not frustration.

Aren't we talking about improving Mylot?

We don't disclose who's viewing your profile, because I've got a feeling many myLot users wouldn't like their browsing habits disclosed for others to see. So basically, the issue is privacy. Those who'd like to let you know that they've been on your profile should drop a profile comment!

myLot is much more than a place where you can earn a few bucks. Those who recognize that tend to be the happier myLot members.

A lot of members just drop in from time to time to discuss their interests and meet new friends. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that! In fact, it's strongly encouraged!

And you're right, watching myLot grow into what it has become has been very rewarding.

We're not done yet though, and we have a long way to go!

Yep, married to a sweetheart! There is no direct correlation between top discussions and earnings. There is an indirect correlation, however. Higher quality discussions are certainly worth more to the community and receive higher earnings. We also try to include high-quality discussions in the Top Discussions. So while there's no strict rule that says these are awarded more, they usually are the higher earners. Hope that makes sense!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that myLot's members are the ones who determine the value of the discussions on the site. After all, that's what the rating system is in place for...

Crash, it just occured to me that I really didn't ask a question (well except for the two rather cleverly hidden ones. lol).
So this is my formal question. How in the name of mylot are you going to choose best response?
In the past half hour alone you have received over 50 responses, and with a membership of over 120,000 surely this choice is going to give you nightmares and keep you sleepless for weeks! LOL

I certainly look forward to checking out the best response that Crash would eventually choose. Must give him/her headaches. He he he! Oh i love my job! As to Crash being a male or female, i won't really be surprised if Crash turned out to be a SHE since this kind of job entails too much attention to details. I don't say that a male can't do it but it's just more of a female thing.

I'm definitely a male swine. You're right, this has definitely kept me busy, and I have a long way to go! The best response will probably go to a question that entertains me and is original.
