I'm sure alot of people up north have never tried them or some may have never even heard of them. My husband loves grits! They are kind of like cream of wheat only it's corn meal. I like them with sugar and milk, but traditionally you are supposed to eat them with butter and hot sauce. Have you ever had grits? What is your favourite way to eath them?

I eat my grits with butter, salt and pepper. I sometimes add cheese. I have not made them in a long time. They sound pretty good right now though. Maybe I will fix myself some grits and eggs for lunch today.

I absolutely love grits! I will eat them a few different ways. I eat them, with lots of melted butter in it. A lot of the times, I will fry a couple of eggs and mix it in with the grits. Also, some times I will crumble up bacon in my grits.

Bacon in grits sounds yummy. You eat yours the way I do except for the bacon. I might have to try them with bacon sometime. Thanks for the idea.

I love grits. I love oatmeal, cream of wheat, and polenta/mush. I like all those warm, hearty comfort foods. I add milk and honey to some or raisins and cinnamon.

Hi. catjane. I love to eat my grits with cheese and black pepper. Sometimes, I will add butter and ketchup together on my grits too. I have never ate my grits with hot sauce before though.

I live up North, NJ, and grits are very well known here. I hate them, but my husband loves them, we both were born in NJ. He likes his with butter, salt and pepper, he mostly get them when we go out for breakfast, because I do not cook them at home.

I am from Nebraska and had never heard of grits until I move to SC back in 1990. I hadn't eaten them for a long time. When I finally became brave enough to eat them i fell in love with them. Some one would always bring a pot full to our Women's Ministry meeting for a pot luck breakfast. I like them with just butter and sugar. I like my oatmeal the same way.

I love grits, with sugar and butter. That's how I was brought up to eat them and I'm from the south. I do remember taking a trip with my dad, many moons ago and tried to order grits in a restuarant. And the waitress had no idea what I was talking about. A good bit of Northerners do know about them and you do find them on the menus sometimes in the North.

I love girts! I like mine with sugar and butter. My grandmother, who was from down south always made them for me.
