do you have a digital camera? Do you like it if you do? |
|
I have a 3 year old Kodak digital camera and I hate it.
It has so very little storage for starters. I think I can take 30 seconds of video or about 12 pictures...this is really not too useful at all. I could get a memory card I guess, but I haven't. I probably won't.
Mostly for reason #2 I hate my camera: it goes through batteries like crazy. It will run on the expensive lithium photo batteries for 6-7 times of taking pictures. I tried AA batteries and it worked 4 times using it before the batteries died. I have tried all brands, Rayovac actually seems to be the winner outlasting the pink energizer bunny and duracell...(what ever happened to the energizer bunny anyways?)
Reason #3 is I find it annoying to have to find the cable to plug into the camera & the computer to tranfer the pictures.
So even though I have one, I hardly use it. I can fall back on my camera phone, our scanner, my laptop's webcam, and of course good old fashioned film! Though it takes me eons to get anything developed.:)
So, do you have a digital camera? Have any suggestions on a new one for me?

Bad lighting even though it has a flash on it. I plan to get a new digital someday as well. I wouldnt have any clue what to look for though. My friend has an awesome digital.

2. diillu (4348) | 2 years ago | Well, I have recently bought new digital camera and this new one I totally loved it. This is Sony Cybershot dsc-n2. This is simply best camera that I have ever got. It's battery last longer even after taking more than 50-60 pics the battery is still there. Apart from that I don't forget to charge my battery so it's always lasts longer than I thought. And as to talk about it's memory, it's simply good. It got about 16 mb of internal memory with 1 gb external memory and got 10 megapixels. And the most intresting fact is that it is touch screen with large screen.

So I still have to work on it. I am also fond of the Sony Cybershot series. So far, they're my dream DCs. May I can get one soo:)

3. drannhh (7299) | 2 years ago | I heartily endorse Canon's PowerShot Digital Elph cameras. I currently use the SD600 and here are its specs:
http://www.labellecameras.com/products.cfm/Digital----------Video/Digital-Cameras/DigitalCameras/Canon-PowerShot-SD600-Digital-Elph-USA-.html
If money is no object go for an SD800 or higher instead, but this one is affordable and a nice camera.
Whatever brand, you want a camera that is powered by a lithium ion battery and stores data on a tiny SD card which can store thousands of shots and then pop into an HP PhotoSmart printer (or one of those kiosks in the drugstore) and print right from the SD card. Why SD? Because it is compatible with PDA's and printers and slots in laptops, etc. Has to be a standard format for the film card, not something proprietary. You also want a lanyard ring on it.
Other necessary features depend on what you want, like for me I need the macro lens, for example.
Good luck in finding what you want!

4. MariaD (2325) | 2 years ago | Yes, I do. After all these years, I have been using the film kind. Last year, though, I was gifted with a digicam, one from one of my dearest friends, and another one from my brother and his family. I'm so thankful for that:-) It is so cool in discovering the digital world! I really like it, so awesome! I'm having a grand time with my digicams.

5. raijin (6727) | 2 years ago | I have a Sony Digicam with a 7.2 Megapixel on it, which also stores photos with a 1Gig memory. It has a built-in battery on it, which also comes along with it's own charger. I could use it almost everyday, as long as the batteries are still working.
Just do some checking on other units available, for sure you'll find something that'll suit your taste.

And two set of back up batteries, that ways i can take as many pictures as possible, and look over them to refresh my memory later.

8. gantwick (618) | 2 years ago | I have a digital camera that I really like. It's less than a year old, and I think it cost around $150 (it was a gift, so I'm not sure). It uses a flash card, and can hold dozens of pictures and videos. The videos are complete with sound. The camera also has a digital voice recorder, and it comes with 20 games. You can transfer pictures from the camera to a PC with a USB cable or a card reader. A couple of pictures I took with it are in my myLot photos. They were taken as I was driving down the highway, but I think they turned out pretty good. I know there are digital cameras out there that cost a lot less, so you might want to do some research before you buy, but I am quite happy with this one.

|
vera5d (2194) | 2 years ago | Those sound like some interesting features - not sure if I would need the games too! But if it was around $150 it sounds like a good deal!
| |
|
|
gantwick (618) | 2 years ago | Well, what I wanted was a camcorder of some kind, but I found out that this takes pretty pictures as well. The games are kinda dorky, but fun. The camera is a DXG 506v. I just Googled it and found that they are going for $139 and less at various places.

gantwick (618) | 2 years ago | Oh yeah. The battery is rechargeable, and it comes with a charger.

9. musicman6 (1752) | 2 years ago | Yes, vera, I think the answer is gonna be, that the camera is a dinosaur, I had one like that, also! Technology is progressing so fast, that a more recent camera won't have the problem with the batteries, and most of them have a lot of storage, I know because my daughter has a good one!

|
|
vera5d (2194) | 2 years ago | i actually saw a $70 "little kid" camera - you have to buy a memory card for it, but even that seems to be better than what I have now! Things sure do get out of date fast!

10. Screech (413) | 2 years ago | Yes I too face the same problem my digital camera is six months old, and uses 3 AA batteries. The batteries die so very quickly-it's really hard to manage. I'm thinking of buying rechargeable cells and a charger. In short I don't hate the camera because I bought it for $45, and has lots of functions you can use it as a web cam, record videos, change resolution, auto click etc.
| |
| |
|
|
vera5d (2194) | 2 years ago | $45 is a good deal, so I don't think I'd be so mad as well. Someone above suggested a camera with rechargable batteries, I think that is something I will consider! I can't stand having to replace them so often! And many times I go to grab the camera to catch the kids doing something cute and it won't even turn on!
