Do you prefer fast foods, buffets, or sit down dining? I prefer to go to a full service restaurant where I get the pleasure of being waited on by professional staff. I don't like to have to get up and get my own food or beverage. Once in a great while is okay but for the most part would rather spend a little extra money so I can fully enjoy the dining experience. Which do you prefer?

I prefer to go to a proper restaurant but very rarely get to go. The only exception to this is Mongolian food which is set out like a buffet at all times which you keep having to go back for different dishes. More affordable and what I do twice a month at lunchtimes with a friend is a meal in our local pub which does extremely good very reasonably priced food with a sit down service except for the initial ordering. Oh Jill I'm feeling hungry now! Ellie :D

There's a restaraunt near me called Kahns Mongolian Foods that I have wanted to try. Do they use a lot of spices like cumin etc? I love that type of seasoning. What types of spices are used mostly on Mongolian foods?
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I think a lot of the dishes are made more with garlic and onions but there are a few spicy ones too but not too sure which ones. All I know is that it is reasonably priced, really yummy and you can go back for as many different bowls as you like. Mainly meat dishes. Sorry I can't be of any more help. Ellie :D

I like buffets usually because of the variety. But there are many times I just want to sit down and dine in. Just to take my time and be waited on. It's a wonderful experience if you have someone wait on you that is nice and helpful instead of being completely inconsiderate.

I prefer buffets. I don't like ordering one thing unless I know I'm really really going to like it. For buffet style dining, I can handle getting up and getting my own food because it's exactly what I want and when I want it. I don't have to wait around for someone to bring the food to me.

I like to go to a full service restraunt. Usually we eat at Applebees, Olive Garden, Chili's.. I like going to a buffet once in a while but prefer sitting down and being waited on. Good post!

I prefer buffets to a full service restaurant because I can eat as much of whatever I like as I want and not have to eat what I don't want. I also love being able to try a couple of different kinds of potatoes or desserts at the same time.

Sitting down to dinner with your family in the comforts....is more about the experience than the food.so many conversations have occured around our dinning room table.........
Fast food is fun when u r on the run and you can still have a conversation .But the atmosphere is not the same.Other are talking, ppl are bustling around, and someone wants to sweep under your feet

We eat out almost every night. Our preference is having someone wait on us. Once in awhile we do go to a buffet but that's not our main choice. I pretty much quit cooking since our kids moved away. It's just as easy for us to eat out and really not that expensive. We don't do expensive restaurants where it would cost $100 for a meal on a regular basis. I enjoy what little time I have with my husband since he works 7 days a week now so eating out is our time to be away from the phone and home together. Did I mention that I am also lazy and don't like to cook? lol

I prefer going to restaurants with full service too, Its especially better to have dinner with your friends and family and get served with everything you need, without having to stand up once in a while.
Dining at buffets are nice too, but not for "socializing" or "quality time" with friends, as there is a tendency of us having to go to get something all the time rather than spend sitting with your friends and having small talks to catch on things about each other. :D

I dont often get to go out to dinner, because its expensive, and even less now because i have TWO babies to take with me everywhere.. but i really do enjoy the fine dinning atmosphere.. or even the bar and grill atmosphere. . being served is nice when your usually the one doing the cooking and serving!

I like casual dining. You have wait staff but the food isn't fancy. My favorite dish is pizza and my favorite restaurant is Uno's. It is a sit down restaurant but it isn't fancy.I also like the food court at the mall. There are so many types of food to choose from and I can find something to eat that is completely different than my family or friends. My favorite is Five Guys. It is a burger joint that makes your food after you order it and you are given a number and when it is called, your order is ready. Your food is Always hot. They have the best burgers.

It is called Five Guys. It is only on the east coast. I am in the D.C. area and we have about five in my area. I don't know if they will branch out. so if you are coming east to visit, try them.

hi jill!
it doesn't really matter to me where i go to eat as long as i love the food. having said that, i guess i do have preferences and that would be somewhere where my favorite food is. ^__^;; for example, i would prefer Wendy's because i love their hamburgers over some fine-dining restaurants. or, i would prefer Pizza Hut which is a little bit formal because they have a menu and they serve you, over Mcdonalds because i love Pizza Hut's pizza.
but if ever i would have to choose between a fast food restaurant and a fine dining restaurant, i would prefer the fast food because i'm really not comfortable with formalities in eating although i can follow it and tolerate it. but i guess it still depends on the circumstances. ^__^;;

While I do enjoy an occasional buffet (or fast food joint if I am in a hurry) when hubby says let's go out to eat, I definitely have sit-down dining in mind.

My husband and I do go out to eat once in a while but mostly we eat at home. We go to food places where it is value for money - C & G food - cheap and good. And it is self service. Faster this way. We just pick what we want put it all on our plate, pay and get on with our meal.

when we go out to we normally go for a full service restaurant although we sometimes do go to mc too. We mostly choose restautants which have something special like cultrual festivals going along so that our children are exposed to india's rich culture. This has helped them to develop themselves for co-curicular activities too.

my in laws took us out to eat after church a few weeks ago to a chinese buffet...the reason that i like a buffet is that you can pick and choose and get as much as you want to eat from it...
while i do like to be waited on, i find it faster just to get your own food...its faster!

I appreciate to be waited on because it doesn't ever happen at home, but if you're talking chineese food then I like to dish my own where ever possible because all too often they pile the rice a mile high. Rice is something I can do at home anytime and I hate to pay for a meal that consists of 90 percent rice. Just my thoughts. Thank You

I much prefer the atmosphere of what we term a sit down restaurant - meaning, I guess, that we order off the menu. Though the affordability and variety of a buffet can be attractive to families with children... my husband loves a buffet... to me it is over whelming, plus I feel self conscious going up to the buffet - and I get a bit grossed out handling the serving pieces that other's have handled - since I will be sitting down to eat just then.

i like the all you can eat buffet style restuarants the best, as i can eat a bit of everything i want to try.as i always have my children with me ,they tend to be a bit more children friendly.but if i was on a date or something romantic, full service is the way to go.cheers sue
