Do you buy toys or make them by yourself for your pets?

Hello dear youless. I have a poodle, so sweet and cute. We do not buy him any toys, but he loves to play with plastic bags in the apartment with a lot of fun. He loves to have fun with himself if he has a bag. My poodle is easy to get satisfied. We play with him when we feed him a sausage. My son usually holds the sausage at a height when it is high enough for him to reach. So he jumps and jumps without getting it. Of course, it is to play with him for fun. The sausage will be in his mouth in the end. hehe. By the way, the following photo is my poodle looking at me taking a photo at him. He is interested in my digital camera. Hope this photo will appear though I am a little worried.

I have a land lord that does not allow pets.

My parents have cats who play with the caps plus the sealers from the coffee creamers and milk jugs. They play with wrappers, shoes, socks, or any thing else they can get their furry paws on when they get the evening crazies. Toys are not needed, besides, with all the bunk going on with imports, they aren't really wanted!

Oh, yeah. I forgot that my poodle loves to play all the shoes placed on the floor and socks and such. I wonder why he is so interested in them. He loves to untie our sports shoes. So we always put them on a higher place where he can not reach it. It is a very interesting behaviour of my poodle. lol

i do not own any pets at the moment, but i just recently had a garage sale and a lot of people actually bought a lot of my childrens old stuffed toys for their pets.so that maybe a idea for some readers, and a cheap alternative then buying expensive toys at the pet shop.cheers sue

My cat goes mad over cardboard boxes! If you bring home an expensive toy from the toy shop she takes one look at it and walks away in disgust, however if you were to bring an empty box home then she will go mad for it and won't leave it alone and more often or not you will find her all curled up inside it! Saves us a fortune over the years we've had her, she's too adult to play with toys now but she still likes her boxes!

My dog will play with the toys I buy but my cats think they are above the store-bought toys, preferring stuff they find laying around the house to play with. Their fave is a catnip mouse I made for them out of a scrap piece of furry fabric that someone threw out. They also love milk caps, my daughter's barettes and ponytail holders, her small stuffed animals, a sock, just bout anything. They will even sort thru my recycle bin for things to play with. lol

i buy them toys, but they seem to prefer to make their own.a box provides hours of fun,and a paper towel roll even more so.
although, there seems to be no greater toy than a full kleenex box with them.what a mess LOL

Yes my brother made his girlfriends cat, a Toy he made himself. It has a box that is carpeted with a hole to jump in and out of there are some little ornaments hanging on it and little bendy bits with bells, it also has a spool thingys built into it that is carpeted too for scratching claws. The cat loves it and i think they are really cool i think he should sell something like that.

My cats find their own things to play with, even when they shouldn't! One of their favourites is to steal ping-pong balls out of my son's toybox and chase those around, but they are also very fond of strimmer cable which they drag into the kitchen.
Of course, they also like to attack each other and I love to watch them getting ready to pounce! I guess they will calm down a little as they get older, and I get the dogs are looking forward to that day!
