Ok guys, why do you do this?!

I just went into the bathroom, and s/o shaved before work. Now there is hair all over the sink, counter top and floor. I just cleaned the bathroom and now I'll have to do it again. Is it that hard to wipe everything down after you shave? Do you not see that your hair is all over the place? Come on men, it's bad enough we have to mop the floor when you 'miss' (probably because you were attempting to write your name again) can you at least clean up your hair when you shave?

Tom and I have only been married since Aug and he doesn't shave every day, but I have never found hair in the sink after he does. He is very considerate in a lot of ways like that.

If he does, he's not available. He's got one brother, very much married. Have no idea if he's considerate or not!

Thankfully, my boyfriend is so tidy he makes sure he leaves the place better than when he has found it. For sure I would be annoyed if get to have a roommate or housemate that acts like that. I think it just comes as a habit. Guys should be more considerate and learn to tidy things up.

I agree. My brother used to be like that at home, such a privileged character. But he married an older woman who taught him basic housekeeping and now he doesn't DARE act like a slob. His wife even trained him how to shop at a supermarket.

My husband actually shaves in the shower. It is his son that is the bathroom piglet. He shaves his head as well as his face and leaves a huge mess every time. I have gotten to the point that I won't clean up after him anymore. It is my husband's son and if he won't make the boy clean up after himself, he can clean up after him. One time, he decided to shave his head in the middle of the night. His hair had been longish, around chin length in areas. He cut it off first and just tossed it at the bathroom trash can. Some went in and some didn't. When I went in the bathroom half asleep in the morning, I thought it was a rodent and I screamed.

LOL. I can just kick his stuff across the hall because his room is across from the bathroom. Also, he does his own wash. When he drops clothes, I just push them back into the laundry room and he can look for them himself. He will be 21 in May and should be able to look after his own stuff, right?

LOL...I know it probably wasn't funny at the time but I couldn't help but laugh! I hope you got even with him somehow for giving you such a scare! I refuse to clean up after my stepson when he leaves his underwear in the middle of the floor. He's 17 and can grab all of his other clothes and wander down the hallway in a towel yet he can't manage to take his boxers with him...

LOL...I don't know about that, s/o is twice his age and apparently still doesn't know how to lift the lid on the laundry hamper. I picture him standing there confused about the process until he gives up and drops his clothes on the floor next to the hamper...that has got to be the only explanation because I just can't imagine he's intentionally being lazy lol...

Are you sure your husband isn't my brother? He moved in with us temporarily (That was almost 3 years ago). He never cleans up after himself and is a total slob. We were an all female household before and never had to worry about that mess in the sink or around the toilet, now we do. The only thing he at least does is put the seat down Other then that he is a total slob and it is very annoying I know. I hope you can say something to the hubby on it. I can't to the brother, he doesn't seem to get a clue on it at all. It just goes right over his head.

Heehe they do sound a lot a like. Maybe it's their age? My brother is going to be 50 this year. I know scary that at his age he has to live with his sisters. If he doesn't want to hear it he won't and of course nothing is ever about him. Oh and on top of it "he knows everything" and has "done everything".

LOL...hmm maybe FIL has some explaining to do, they sure sound like they could be brothers. Mine moved in here with his parents 'temporarily' 6 years ago! And just like your brother, talking to him does no good.

I hate it when my s/o does that it just pisses me off, hair is the worse thing to clean when your cleaning b/c it likes to stick to your rag and then fall off while your wiping the sink. I made a choir list so that he would have to clean up after himself every once in awhile so i didnt have to do it all the time. He made me get rid of it, now he wants me to make it agian, but he tried to push cleaning the ferret poop up on my step-son all the time, and I told him that was unfair, and asked him if he wanted to clean the ferret poop as his permenit job, he said no, so im just going to dish them out evenly (except i get a little more since i dont work) but his hair is the grosses thing to clean up. Im glad he doesnt miss in the tolit though.

LOL I don't know for sure why but I just remembered how bad it was with my ex-husband...he was really hairy everywhere but the top of his head so he shaved a lot and frequently. He preferred razors and shaving cream and our sink was right next to the toilet...hair, shaving cream, and normal toilet scum all mixed together....plus he was also one to get toothpaste everywhere. I bought gloves and jumbo packs of dollar store sponges to clean just that area of the room.

Ooh that would be so nice! Except when we get two bathrooms, it's going to be one for the boys since they make up the majority of the family, and one for us girls (me and two daughters but they may not be with us full time like 4 of the boys will be). They can deal with their own mess then, I'll just keep the door shut and not look lol.

I feel your pain foxy! I was informed when i asked if all men have bad aim that they dont INTENTIONALLY pee on the toilet or the floor.. its actually SPLASHBACK from when the pee hits the water.. Now.. i thought about it and i guess it makes sense.. but if i was to do it mistake or not, i'd notice and wipe it off. Same with the hair.. but that's because we clean it up for them.. if it where up to them i dont think they'd care if it where cleaned up or not.. hair or pee!!

powerful pee lol. I was thinking large stream.. or lots of pressure! hah maybe it happens when they wake up and have a full bladder. I dunno.. but yes. i agree it doesn't explain why they can't wipe afterwards.

Ahh...the splashback theory. You're right it does make some sense but, man that's some powerful pee! And yeah, it still doesn't explain why they can't wipe it off lol.

My husband uses an electric razor and then empties it into the sink when he is done shaving. He is usually pretty good when it comes to rinsing out the sink and not leaving that mess there because he knows that I will make him go back and clean it up if he doesn't do that. There are some times though when I get up after he left for work and his hair is in the sink and I hate it too. I work hard besides having my job outside the house and going to school full-time and I work hard to keep the house clean so it gets frustrating if he does do that.

I think this may stem from their upbringing..My son and husband doesn't leave the mess where I have to "mop the floor", but my grandsons are awful in that area..But I guess my husbands mom/dad forgot to tell him that he too, needs to wipe the sink and counter if he makes a mess from shaving..(though his excuse is he has no time..)

Oh my gosh! My husband does this ALL the time! It drives me crazy! He somehow manages to get toothpaste all over the sink too. I don't know how many times I have reminded him that I am not his mother. His mom had 3 boys, my husband is the oldest. The younger two are like 20 and 23 or somewhere around there. She still waits on them hand and foot!

Ugh! I hate that...and s/o mom was the same way (she trims her husband's ear hair! gross) I have 4 boys and I will not let them behave like that. They are 9,5, almost 3 and almost 17 months. The oldest has a 'job', knows how to fix simple snacks and meals and tidies up after himself. The younger boys (live with me) clean up their toys, help make their beds, and even the baby helps with laundy and unloading the dishwasher! (I take out all the knives and glass dishes and he hands me the plastic stuff and spoons)

What I want to know is why more men haven't answered this discussion? I usually let the bathroom go until it's so bad he'll clean it up - it's a real stresser for me and I give up sometimes and clean it. My husband's worst fault is the messes of clothes, personal belongings, bathroom, etc. I don't know how someone can "make" someone clean up after themselves, I'd love to know, other than mentioning it, asking, threatening...

LOL...I know, it even read 'guys' in the title. I guess my "wife voice" came across and sent them running! Guys are so strange...mine removes trash and empty cans from his vehicle everytime he drives it, even though it's still filthy and filled with useless junk but the bathroom at his old house would get disgusting and it was like he didn't notice.

My brother used to do the very same thing when we were growing up. Actually.....I think he still does. Since I do not live in the same house with him anymore it does not bother me, but I feel for the woman who ends up with him. She will either have to clean up after him or hound him until he does it himself.

lol I would be willing to bet that it is a woman writing this lol I don't know why that is that we do this but I mean at least i dont miss lol that is a positive thing i think but whenever we shave or something like that it takes time that we really don't want to spend doing it anyways and the way i see it its just gonna be the same way tomorrow so why would we want to clean it up today and then have to turn around and clean up the same mess tomorrow...when in all actuality we coudl just leave it till the end of the week and then clean it up one time...that is just my thought process...lol JHL930

Well you get kudos for being the first man to respond! But here's the thing..."why would we want to clean it up today and then have to turn around and clean up the same mess tomorrow"...well that's exactly what we have to do when you guys don't clean it up yourself! And, here's the bonus for you guys, if you would take the time to clean up you wouldn't have to spend an hour listening to us nagging you about it! LOL Thanks for responding!

I do not expect another person with whom I'm sharing a room, to clean up after I'm done shaving, or would I tolerate him expecting me to clean up after his shave. I clean up the sink after the shave and whenever they see that I have cleaned up, they respond in the same manner, by cleaning up before they leave the bathroom after the shave. bourne
