Do you have an alarm system in your house?

We original got a unit for the reduction in our household insurance. I was wondering if you have a system, and does it make you feel safer?

Yes, we do. Mostly the alarm system is to provide peace of mind for my wife. Financially speaking, it is a poor investment. I have spent a lot of money on the alarm system and I don't really get anything back. If I lived in an area where it was likely that I would have use the alarm system, I would probably move. Perhaps when our contract expires I will actually go through the trouble of investigating my own system. One that calls my phone instead of being routed through some monthly fee based monitoring agency.

Not unless you count 4 dogs as an alarm system. Believe me, they let you know if there is someone in the yard. No one would be getting in the house. I am not worried about someone breaking in though. Out here it would be too easy to get caught.

We have ADT. We have had it for almost ten years now. We were burglarised about 11 years ago before moving out here. I wanted to be safe and not lose anymore things so we got ADT. I do feel safer with it. We always set it when we are away and I use it when I am home sometimes too.

No, we do not have one, but yes I would definitely feel much, much safer if we did. Did it reduce your insurance by alot?
