Well I live in Minnesota where the weather is always cold and snowy. We just had a huge snow/ice storm March 31st getting over 7 inches. Now I have removed all my Christmas decorations except for the lights that ring the eave of my house. I still have a little snow lweft on the ground. Not a lot but still some hangs on for dear life. It is a 2 person job as I don't want the lights hitting the roof or ground as they are removed. So I have to remove them on a weekend when my wife is home or our daughter visits. Seems this may be the weekend to remove them as the high temps are finally goinf to be near or abopve normal. Supposed to be in the mid to high 50's this weekend. So do you still have lights up? Do you have any Christmas decorations left hanging on display? When do you remove your decorations? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

All my Christmas deco is packed away till next Christmas. I do, however, have 2 bows up from Halloween that I totally forgot to take down. lol Glad they are purple so they go with any holiday. BTW...it reached 61 here today with lots of warm sun even thou it started raining around 9pm.

Now that you mentioned it, I haven't seen her in any of the discussions in quite awhile either. She's not on my friend's list but I do recall seeing her responses in several discussions.

No, I haven't put any decorations up the last couple of years. We just don't have room inside. My husband also uses our home as an office and my mom is living with us. We don't usually put anything up outside. There's not much traffic on this road so not many people would see it anyway. I do love to drive around and look at all the beautiful Christmas lights and decoration.

Awesome Lights - About 3 blocks from my house
I do it for my pleasure more than the pleasure of passerbys. I have always loved houses well lit for Christmass. So I keep doing it each year. Even if I lived in the boondocks I'd have a lot of lights up. Just my way to celebrate the season I guess. Here's a house near us this past Holiday. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Well , put it this way Bob. We still have all our outside Christmas Lights hanging up. Hubby just hasn't had time to climb up & get them down. About one week ago, with strong wind, some of them feel down & were hanging in this circle around the front door. Since Christmas my Father has given us all his outdoor lights. So now we have heaps of lights!!

Hey guess what GRANDPA BOB that sexy female avatar is still showing in my email notices of discussions you've started..hehe Mmmm...almost all of my Christmas decorations are down at least but I still have to go over and store them up better...just took down and randomly shoved them here and there..still do have some Easter things around though--actually my home is a tad weird to begin with...I keep some decorations up and around representing all the holidays or seasons, especially in my bedroom--I know, I know...I'm weird

Yeah Yeah Yeah! Seems it may be a major glitch that won't go away unless someone writes myLot admin complaining abiout it. I won't write as they NEVER answer me anyhow. But these decorations, are they left up well past the Holiday? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I don't put out any outdoor lights for the Christmas season, so I don't have that issue like you are facing now. I have a fair sized living room window in the front of my townhouse. So what I do is put lights up on the inside of the window. That way, when I'm taking down the decorations, I can take EVERYTHING down. :)

I put up a LOT of lights outside. I would guess that I had around 4 or 5 thousand lights this year. All around the eave of the house then along the edges of the yard and driveway as well. Along the roof of the garage and this coming year I am placing some along the fence in the back yard as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is a LOT of lights! Wow! I admit, I adore seeing the houses done up like that over the holidays. And yet I'm not one of them. Maybe if I wasn't in a townhouse I would feel differently, and do more fun things out front.

The decorations are all down now. It did take several months this year, but probably won't put everything up next year. Each year is harder to get help getting them down. My husband likes to help put them up, so it should be interesting informing him we are going to do less this year. Anyone want to tell him now? Actually, not today as its his birthday and you can't ruin the day.

yeah I need help with just the high up lights etc. I fell from the roof a couple years ago and do not want that to happen again so I wait for some help. I know it won't be my lazy azz son that will come out to help me. Sorry for that but.... I am not saying anything to him that it's less decorations this time around. I will be adding more I think here. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

We took all our Christmas decorations down the first week of January. There is one apartment on the second building that still has Christmas lights on their balcony.

Christmas lights - We don't put them up, trying to save on the cost of electricity
Hi Grandpa, I couldn't live in the northern states due to the cold weather and it lasting much longer there than in the south. To me, you'd have to be pretty darn tough to live in those areas so I guess you're a tough guy! LOL We take down our Christmas decorations on the 7th of Januaray because that's when the three wise men made it to see the baby Jesus. And it's before the real cold hits us.

I guess you can call us tough here in Minnesota. But I love the snow and the cold is all right as well. I would have mine down about the same time as well if it was warm out then. After New Years Day I seldom turn them on anyhow. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Our lights are all down. I am glad we didn't get all that snow it is just raining here. I know alot of people just leave there lights on there house all year long instead of putting them up and taking them down every year my aunt is one of them who leaves them up all year long.

I can't leave them up all the time. Some people around here set up different lights for so many times. Easter, St Patricks Day, Valentines Day. On and on. Too much work for me thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Once I had fallen from the roof I won't remove the lights till I have some help. So they stay until then. Especially until the snow is off the roof as well. That's how I feel was on a snowy roof. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hello dear Grandpa Bob. We are already enjoying nice spring weather every day. I did not know that you were still having snow there. I think that the lights make the house more beautiful, especially when the weather is so cold and it makes you feel warm. I would like to have the lights on if I had one Christmas tree. Stay warm, Grandpa Bob.

We normally take ours down in the week between Christmas and New Years. I get depressed looking at them when Christmas is over, so it all comes down right away. This year we didn't put any up at all. We were dealing with my spouse's illness and just never got around to it. We didn't even put up a Christmas tree. Next year we'll have 2 new grandkids in the family so we'll do it up big then.
