Now this stinks!!! |
|
We just drove back from Connecticut and was listening to one of the local radio stations. They were talking about a bank that had closed it's branch office and Friday due to an awful smell. They tracked it down to a check that someone had deposited. The person who deposited it said the man had changed motor oil and then handled the check resulting in the smell. I can't imagine a piece of paper smelling so bad that it resulted in a bank building being closed. What is the worse smell that you have ever smelled?

1. teison2 (4546) | 3 months ago | That sounds really strange to me. Can a check smell that bad? The worst smell I have ever smelled was actually in a bank. I used to work there. One of our customers, or two really - but one was even worse than the other, smelled horrid. He hardly ever washed. He smelled of urin, cigaret-smoke, dirt and sweat. I know his daughter in law would force him to clean himself and change his clothes from time to time. he was really a nice man. it was sad to see him being so lonely because he could not take better care of himself. My coworker would start spraying with an air-fresher while he was still there. It must have hurt him. But it was almost unbearable to us. I doubt he brushed his teath once a month even. Wonder how people can let themselves become that bad. he drove a car and lived on his own, so he should have been able to keep himself semi-clean at least.

Debs_place (5510) | 3 months ago | I thought it to be very strange too...that is why I put it in. I used to work with someone like that, and he was a younger man. He smelled disgusting and did not believe in shampoo. People kept air fresheners up and down the aisle. Even when he was not there, the smell lingered.

tammyr (3327) | 3 months ago | I worked with a girl that was that bad. The other workers and I made the manager say something to her and give her an extra uniform so she could wash them between wearings better. the smelled lingered for hours after she left.

Debs_place (5510) | 3 months ago | A penicillin factory - nice! That does not seem right, something to make us healthy smells bad. I remember driving by Niagara Falls as a kid and it smelled pretty bad there, so did the steel manufacturing in Lackawanna.

nova1945 (733) | 3 months ago | Well penicillin is made from mold, so I guess that's what the smell was from.

tammyr (3327) | 3 months ago | WE lived by the Lilly penicillin factory in Indianapolis, Inianna. I was trying to decide between that or another, then I read this. It is an AWFUL smell. You can re-create it for your self if you have any penicillin. Just stick you nose in the bottle and sniff real hard. That's pretty close.

4. OreoCookie3 (12321) | 3 months ago | I think the worst smell I have ever smelled is when a relative had something wrong with him and every time he burped it smelled like it came from passing gas... only much more fermented than that. He smelled up the whole house.. no one ever really found out what was wrong with him and then he died with pancreatic cancer... so I guess that was why he smelled so bad.

Debs_place (5510) | 3 months ago | Yes, the pancreas could have something to do with that, since it is part of the digestive system. That must have been embarrassing for him at best.

5. hockeygal4ever (5472) | 3 months ago | How hilarious! I can't imagine something the size of a check holding that much odor either! Sheesh! Someone has some sensitive nose thing going on! Worse smell I've ever had at home is a skunk that decided to rest right under my window every night. He finally decided he didn't want to stay, thank God! LOL But it was so bad at one point that even with the window's closed and a bowl of vinegar to take the smell out you gagged going into my room. It took forever for the stench to leave my bedding!

Debs_place (5510) | 3 months ago | That would have to be bad. And you were probably scared to make a noise, since that could trigger more spraying. You poor thing. I'll bet Febreze or Lysol did not help at all either.

7. pangeacat (369) | 3 months ago | My goodness! One little piece of paper with motor oil on it? My uncle was a bit of a grease monkey, so we had a lot of rags and clothes and what-not with motor oil on them, and I can't remember the scent ever getting that bad! Whoa! The worst smell I've ever had the misfortune to experience was, I regret to say, a friend of mine, whose name I'll not mention. I know he showered. I know he washed his clothing, a mutual friend of ours even occasionally washed it for him! But, no matter what he did, or we did to help him, he still had an eye-watering case of body odor. The friend of ours who helped him out with his laundry on occasion even had to throw some of his clothes out, because they still reeked beyond comprehension, even after multiple washings with soap, bleach, even white vinegar! We've discussed how we would really love to help him out by discovering the source (something in his diet?) and eliminating it for him.

8. Rozie37 (6207) | 3 months ago | My nose is very sensitive. I have allergies. I hope that this does not gross you out, but the worst smell that I have ever encountered was cancer. This guy who lived in my building at one time had cancer of the knee. At first, I had no idea of what it was. You could smell him coming from a long ways off. Finally I asked someone why he smelled like that. When they told me, I was very saddened. I had heard before that it smelled bad, but my God, I could never have imagined. I literally smelled like I would imagine death to smell. It was awful.

The worst smell I ever smelled was the smell of a cat's feces.I stepped on the feces of a cat by mistake,it was really so stinky that I had to throw my slippers away. From then on,I hate cats,I will never ever to allow a cat in my room.
