Wow It Was Like Having My Own Personal Shopper! I've Been So Spoilt LOL |
|
My daughter took me shopping on Friday afternoon for my birthday treat, she is 21 and said she wanted to treat me. Wow was I spoiled. She knows I don't like shopping very much, I tend to buy more for others rather than for me. She grabbed at least 6 items each time and came with me to try on and most got put back, complete honesty, no you look 20 years older in that, no too tight, oh wow mum that looks great. I came home with a whole new wardrobe including underwear too and felt really pampered and like a million dollars when I put the whole new outfit on to go out the following evening. Oh how I love her and she was just so happy making me feel good to. When they were little I always imagined these sort of trips and now they are happening for real. Do you go shopping with your daughters? Or do you have a friend who will honestly tell you 'if your bottom looks big in these LOL? Please share. Ellie:D

1. stephcjh (22972) | 2 years ago | That is great. My daughter is 16 now and she has a part-time job. she likes to go out and buy me things also. She went shopping yesterday for Mother's Day for me. I will be very surprised to see what she picked out for me. I wanted flower pots and flowers for my yard or any kind of yard ornaments.

2. twistedangelwings (320) | 2 years ago | That is really nice of your daughter. I'm not too sure there would be a lot of 21 year old daughters who would do that, so good on her.:)
I often go out shopping with my mother (I'm 26) and I have ever since I got my first job. I just do it because I can really. I work, she doesn't and hasn't for one reason or another since I was a kid (6-8 or something similar) so I feel it is the least I can do to give her a little treat every now and again. I'm also a bit of a random treat giver, as in if I happen to be out and see something she'd like & want (and it is within my budget) I'll more than likely grab it. At some stage I'll need to learn to actually keep these little treats for important things, like birthdays, Christmas and mothers day because wihout fail I can never find anything at either time.

ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | Hi Thank you for sharing. You sound like you are a wonderful daughter to your mum too. My daughter is still at university but works also and really wanted to have some fun shopping with me, which we did, even though some of the mirrors in some of the changing rooms were a bit harsh! Its always the way though when you need to buy for a special occasion and can never find anything, but I'm like you if I see something I know someone will love, I'll buy it if I can and give straight away. Thanks you so much for sharing. Ellie:D

twistedangelwings (320) | 2 years ago | Changing room mirrors can sometimes be so so evil and deceiving. One would think shops would want good mirrors in the hope of people buying more of their product rather than the opposite way around.

3. gemini_rose (10153) | 2 years ago | That is really nice, it must be lovely to have a good relationship with your daughter, I hope I am able to be close with my daughter as she grows up. I think at 2 years she is a little too young to take me shopping, but I do take her shopping and we have quite a bit of fun, even though she is only little.
I do not have any friends to go shopping with, so I have to decide for myself if my bottom looks big in anything!!

ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | You have changed your avatar, love it. I wish you lived nearer because I would go shopping with you and have fun plus tell you the truth too LOL. I am sure your daughter will grow to be a fun shopper too. Ellie:D

gemini_rose (10153) | 2 years ago | I changed it for a reason, but then I came across this one and I could not believe it, I did a tapestry for my Mum and Dad one christmas and it was this exact picture!! SO I had to have this one.
That is really nice of you to say that, I do sometimes feel like I am missing out on such a lot, it would be so nice to just have someone to go off with for a day and just shop and then have some lunch. We live quite away from the nearest big shopping centre and to get to it will take 40 or so minutes on a bus but I have decided that when I come back off holiday then I am going to get the bus once a month with my daughter and make a day of it and teach her how to shop!!

|
|
ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | Go Girl! You enjoy your holiday come back refreshed and make that trip each month. It will be fun. Wow you made a whole tapestry. I started one once but that it as far as it got! Ellie:D

ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | Thank you Oreo. It was lovely being treated like that. Usually I would have had a gift and a card but as we were both going to a 25th wedding anniversary party she suggested I go a day earlier and go shopping with her. Ellie:D

5. bowtieguy (5670) | 2 years ago | It sounds like you had a great time, I love my birth days. My sons always treat me to dinner and a movie or whatever it is I want to do. I do the same from them but it seems more special to me the effort they go to then when I do it for them. I can really tell the love they have for me when they do things like this.

You gave your daughter a wonderful
gift by letting her do this for you.
I have had to learn to let others do
for me...I would always much rather be doing
for someone else.
Happy Late B-Day Darling...

ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | Hi Thanks Raydene for the birthday greeting. I used to find it very hard to accept gifts as I am usually the giver but have accepted now that I need to allow others to do things for me. My mum said she never used to help me with anything as I always seemed so independent but beneath it all I think sometimes I was crying out for someone to do something for me and I also never asked if I needed help but now I do. ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | LOL. Mine went through my wardrobe last year and left me with hardly any clothes. A few favourites I put my foot down on though but I do appreciate their advice as I have never been fashion concious and don't have a clue a lot of the time, just go with what I feel comfortable in. 8. winterose (17896) | 2 years ago | I wish I had a daughter, I never had one, only a very impatient son and I would never go shopping with him. Gosh I would feel like a million dollars too if my child did that for me. You are really loved hon, that is all I can say.

ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | Thank you Winterose, yes I am truly blessed and truly loved. Well if I ever come to Canada we'll have to have a shopping trip together, now that would be fun eh! I am still playing catch up from my weekend away and will read the next two stories when I can concentrate and appreciate but am looking forward to them. Have saved on my email but been working today. Ellie:D

winterose (17896) | 2 years ago | You would have to come specifically to montreal, canada is the second largest country in the world, you could be going somewhere else and be over 3,000 miles away from me in Canada too, lol, there is so much to see and do in montreal, it is one of the greatest tourist spots in the world.

|
|
ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | Wow I didn't realise Canada was so vast, should have done really but living in Uk its only a few hundred miles from top to bottom so will rephrase and if I ever come to Montreal. LOL. Ellie:D

9. Pitgull (1064) | 2 years ago | My mom was never into shopping. I've never been a big fan, too much data for my computer*brain* to process. Am I getting ripped off, can I find something I like better cheaper, and the worst one of all, where can a curvy, petite girl shop??
It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Your daughter sounds like an awesome friend....

ellie333 (6793) | 2 years ago | Hi I have always had the same problem but Dorothy Perkins does a lovely petite range in all sizes which is what I need as I'm very short and not quite as slim as I used to be. I don't know whether you have one near where you are, but I also found some fantastic shoes in the sale for only £5 reduced from thirty, wow. Bargain. Thanks for sharing. Ellie:D

One top looked beautiful on the hanger but awful on. I am pleased you have a daughter you can share this sort of shopping experience with. Ellie:D
