would you accept a faux diamond?

I don't think it matters. They are pretty. And can be expensive. Whether it was nature created or in a lab should make no difference. It is the thought that counts. SO yes, I would still want it. I would feel no different toward the person.

Hi scarlet_woman! I appreciate anything that is given to me. I would really like it if they will tell me that it is lab created and not being lied upon. I would accept the other diamond. I am not much into jewelry but I am very picky as to what I will wear and what I won't wear. It has to be something that is not too gaudy. I like small jewelry and short and sweet jewelry that makes a clear statement. I really don't care what it costs as long as it looks nice on me.

I really don't care for diamonds, though if they can make them in colors, then yeah, I'd love to have one.:)

My engagement ring doesn't even have a diamond, real or fake, on it. I specifically wanted a non-traditional engagement ring, so mine has a rounded amethyst on it. Much safer for me to not injure myself, since it's not pointy.:) And prettier too, if you ask me.:)

I don't normally wear jewelry, but would make an exception for a real diamond.. I do have a few expensive pieces that I have received as gifts from hubby over the last 40 years but it is jewelry that I wear on certain occasions only.. I wouldn't want someone to try and fool me, I would rather know the worth of something that I have received as a gift.. I would be devastated if I lost a ring with a real diamond more so than if I lost a ring with a huge CZ in it.. Also you have to know the worth if it is to be insured.. I would want someone to tell me if it was real or fake.. I could enjoy either one of them..

I'd like to know...more because i think its neat they can create them in the labs now. I actually would prefer a sapphire over a diamond though! I'm not really a diamond girl. I'm more a white gold and pretty blue rock girl.

If I liked it, I'd be pretty pleased, real or not! These created gems can be quite expensive, but then again I was always taught that it's the thought that counts! As a wedding ring, for sure I'd take it. Most young couples will need their money to spend on necessites rather than lavish diamonds. Most of them are very pretty too, so YES I'LL TAKE IT!! personally when it comes to diamonds.. id prefer the counterfiet, and would refuse a real one. i dont want to be a part of the slaughter and torture that goes into the procuring of diamonds just to have something shiny on my finger.

I think unless you are a millionaire and can afford a flawless diamond, most people will be able to tell a faux from a real. I have many lab created stones, and cz's, but I only wear realistic sizes, not great big honking ones, that no one would ever believe were real. Not all lab created stones are the same. There are synthetic stones, my preference, or simulant stones. Synthetic stones will test the same as a real stone, both optically and physically. That is because they are created in a lab under the same conditions as the real stone. Simulant stones are only meant to look like the real thing, and can be anything including glass, plastic, or a combination of other things.

Hello there, I would accept a faux diamond. Why not? As long as it is well designed; fashionable and fit my fingers, I would like it. Sometimes, I rather have a faux one rather than a real one, as with the real one, I have to be conscious or give extra attention with it and worry it will be lost or dent while wearing it. But with the faux one, I can wear it all the time, even for washing dishes or having a shower/bath. LOL
