I always valued my mother and father the same, but when i was a child I could talk to my mother easier than I could to my dad, he was more quit than my dad was.He worked alot, so really we always went to my mother when we needed something. But when we grew up, I could go to either one of them when I needed advise or help. But my father passed away in 2000.I really do miss him.so now it is my mother that I go to.

i would say i value my father more, because he was the one who raised me,did stuff for me,took me on holidays and still does me favours.

sometimes it not right to said you value one parent more than the other

but because i only know my dad and i know hear stories about my mother it harder to try at value her at all

That's really hard to say. Both my parents have been gone for a very long time. When I was growing up, I was Mama's girl. Always with her and very uncomfortable with my Dad even though I had no reason to be. My mother taught me to cook and sew and do all kinds of needle work and we were very close.

After my Mother died I moved back home with my Dad because I was recently divorced, he wasn't able to take care of himself and the only other alternative was to put him in a rest home. He was too active and alert to do that.
That was when I really got to know my Dad. I'd always known that there wasn't any one in the world with more honesty and integrity than my Dad, but living with him without my Mom there really made me appreciate him. I had two teen-age sons at the time and he was an invaluable male role model for them.

So I guess in the first part of my life I valued my Mom more, but in later life it was my Dad.

Hi as2006! I can't decide on who I value more if it is my father or my mother. I have held them both with much importance in my life that being one without the other makes my life incomplete. I love them both although they are not perfect. I value my mom because of her nurturing love and I value my father because of his wisdom. I value both because both have made me complete as I was growing up.
Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting! happy

Well, my father passed away 20 years ago, and my mother just last week, but I still value them both equally. Though they are both gone from this world, the things that they taught me will be with me for a life time. They each taught me different things and some of the same things. I value them all.

well, when I was a kid, I have never liked my mother.. But, now that I have my own family, have a son, I have realized how important she is to me.. Now, i realized and know how she feels before.. I love my mother now much that before..:)

That's a tough question. I'd say I value them both equally because they raised me together. While it is true that I spend more time with my mom by shopping together and doing girly stuff, it doesn't mean that my dad hasn't made a huge impact on my life just because he's always away at work. My dad taught me to be strong and to have good moral character. My mom is more pampering because she coddles me sometimes, so it's my dad who's the disciplinarian at home.

In a way, I feel lucky to be loves equally by both my mom and my dad. Other families have one good parent and one bad parent or even 2 bad parents which is something that I do not want to deal with.

It's not a matter of valuing one more than another, it's a matter of the unique values they hold in my life. If one was so much more valuable than the other, I would not need two parents. The act is, they are both valuable to me in their own unique way.
