A girl can never have enough pairs of knickers |
|
is what my wife says. In our entirely female household, apart from me, and I've been known to wear a bra (!), we are overflowing with clothes. Especially those belonging to my daughter who is 19. Currently we could be confused for a small warehouse clothes store. This has got me wondering. What is it clothing wise, but NOT shoes or accessories, that you just cannot have enough of?

p1kef1sh (2510) | 3 months ago | I did shoes a couple of months back. The winner had over 70 pairs! T shirts are good. They don't suit my shape, but I love to see them, especially the funny ones.

2. Goodie123 (6179) | 3 months ago | KNICKERS, As long as I have plenty of knickers I am fine. I do not care what I wear over the knickers. But I must have my knickers. If you could see my wardrobe Pikey, You would take me dumpster diving to try and find me some clothes. But I have KNICKERS.

|
p1kef1sh (2510) | 3 months ago | Glad to hear it Goodie. When I grow up I think that I should go into the knicker manufacturing business - along with conical bras and cycle through burger bars. We have a house full.

|
Goodie123 (6179) | 3 months ago | I think you will make more money making conical bra's Pikey. Too many places make knickers now. The conical bra's will be a real winner.

3. dorypanda (789) | 3 months ago | I NEED lots of knickers too, I know exactly how your wife and daughter feel. The trouble with womens pants is that they usually have rubbish elastic that snaps within a week and obvioulsy we need to wear a clean pair every single day and we need to wear the appropriate ones for the day and for what we're doing, for instance we need pants for 'fat' days and ones for 'thin' days, ones for 'those' days and ones for 'any' days. I hope that's cleared that up for you. As for any other item of clothing that I need lots of, well, I can't really think of any, I do have a favourite item of clothing though, it's a jumper which my Mum knitted for me, I designed it from some patterns in her book, then she made it, it started off as a jumper that fitted me very well, now it's more like a dress, but I'm not getting rid of it, it's my jumper and I need it, even though it's looking even more tatty than the inside of my head!

p1kef1sh (2510) | 3 months ago | Wow. I didn't realise that knicker wearing was so complex. I don't have that problem than goodness. I look fat in any type of under wear. I am much better informed now thank you Dory. Jumpers, yes I love them. When my wife and I first met I had some very old hand knitted jumpers that I virtually lived in. But I do acknowledge that they had seen much better days. My wife took one look and said "let's put these away for best". 21 years later, I still haven't had an occasion to wear them. Do you think that she was trying to tell me something.

4. smacksman (2955) | 3 months ago | Socks! We have a 'sock monster' in our household that comes out at night and eats one of a pair of socks! At least it is difficult for the monster to eat one side of a pair of knickers! And viz a vis your bra wearing days, I read in the press today we men have 'moobs' and you girls have boobs so we must wear a 'mra'. haha
| |
| |
|
|
p1kef1sh (2510) | 3 months ago | A mra! Sounds like a passion noise to me. The sock thing is a perennial. Apparently there is a sock monster that lives in the washing machine that steals or eats one and leaves the other. Sounds entirely plausible to me.

Countrymom (315) | 3 months ago | Sock monster...LOL A few months back my foster daughter was helping me with something when she stood up there was a jelly bean. My foster daughter promptly named said jelly bean, "Nadine" (no offense please to anyone with that name here!). Since then, the sock monster in our house has become "Nadine". We are always missing one sock of a pair and in desperation I finally told my foster daughter to wear one of each and make her own fashion statement. It worked. She now makes a fashion statement and we speak fondly of Nadine, our own personal sock monster. LOL

5. ellie333 (3770) | 3 months ago | We actually tease my younger daughter over the amount of knickers she has. She will not come back from a shopping trip without at least three more pairs and will spend more on a pair than I do on a top. For me I think it is t-shirts. I tend to pick them up in different colours each shopping trip. I also manage to shrink a lot of them so they get replaced quite often. My other daughter it tends to be really pretty strappy tops, she has so many she could one one a day for the whole time away at uni and not do one wash load as there will still be spare. I get all the washing upon her return LOL. Ellie:D

|
p1kef1sh (2510) | 3 months ago | All that blooming washing Ellie. You know, I don't remember the careers teacher at school ever once saying to me "Now then lad, there's a grand future in the washing business". But I'm in it none the less. LOL. My wife has to be dragged to the shops to buy herself clothes, but she is forever buying things for our daughter. Apart from the ubiquitous knickers, it must be tops too, closely followed by skirts. Daughter is going shopping today - for more clothes! It must be a female thing. I don't understand it at all.

p1kef1sh (2510) | 3 months ago | I'm whistling Col Bogey as I type Ruby. You and your diaphanous knickers. But diamante sides are a bit racy for the mean streets of Derbyshire. You'll get a few whistles when you go out in those. I've forgotten what this discussion is about now I am so distracted by that image. Oh yes - clothes and not having enough of them. Sometimes it is exciting to find something that you had forgotten that you owned. Wonder whether I can get back into my flared jeans and wedge boots? And those orange Y fronts...........

7. Transdisc (12439) | 3 months ago | Hello p1kef1sh I find that I like coats. All sorts of coats. If a coat catches my eye, I have to have it. The thing is, I live in the Southeast of the United States and it's never cold. Never.

p1kef1sh (2510) | 3 months ago | But Trans. Like the good boy scout you are prepared should it ever turn cold. Very wise in my opinion. You might go on a trip too. An entirely sensible and logical thing to do, buying coats.

8. stephcjh (11219) | 3 months ago | LOL. I am not much into clothes and shoes that much. I only own two pairs of shoes and a few pairs of pants. I do have several t-shirts though. I like to have a variety of those to change back and forth to wear something new and different. I like name brand shirts of all kinds and love to buy new ones.

10. dfn12968 (5595) | 3 months ago | Well, apparently I can never have enough socks. I seem to have two drawers full of socks. I don't wear socks. And, if I wanted to, I could not, because 90% of the socks I have are missing their mates. I imgaine the one time in a year I want to wear socks, I go to the drawer full of them, don't find a pair and buy another pair. That has to be why I have so many, right?

My last count was 37 pairs and I just saw a pair of Victoria Beckham jeans that I would definately love. My other passion is bags, like to be able to change them daily and have different ones for different functions.
